But by your logic it's fine to throw the idea of unity out the window and go with a divided group because of what someone else said? You're the one who's been in ALPA longer, why don't you act like it?
Folks, what I am advocating here is:
- Support ALPA, your Reps and Volunteers who work for you
- Support ALPA PAC
- Think carefully about your survey responses
- Consider that scope nets you more actual pay through advancement than having $1 above whatever arbitrary metric, or contract comparison from a decade and a half ago you might have in mind.
- Just think; remember that Delta is a holding company of alter ego stacked on alter ego and the easy play is simply to move flying around to the flavor of the day while allocating costs to the "bad boys."
- Hold ALPA accountable for results. Learn about the Candidates. Know how your Reps vote. We, as members of the association fail the association when we let things like Endeavor's negotiations go unchallenged. We need to keep a very close watch on this transatlantic JV.
Was I talking about his post? Rhetorical--no, I wasn't--I was addressing yours.

Although he, as I, had no active roll in the sacrifices made we both are left wondering what has come of this profession. I know when I firt started flying my goal was a major where life was "good". Even though I wasn't on property when the &hit hit the fan, I was riding the bench watching and praying it wouldn't continue to implode. I along with many (you included) had expectations when we began our careers wether that be USAF or DCI. Those expectations have taken a beating and therefore our desires hopes and dreams were trashed just as those on property...I'm not belittling the sacrifices 1000+ made just trying to shed some light on hy some of us feel cheated Ben though we weren't here quite yet.
Cheers

Fair enough. I got no qualms with that. I am just tired of his acting like I should walk in front of a machine gun to "restore" something for him that he never ever had in the first place.
I was here, but agree with Sinca. Expectations have been demeaned significantly. Whether on the bench or on the payroll this career took enough of a bashing to become a "job."
There is absolutely nothing wrong with a pilot who came post 911 trying to lift up this job, be it with posts, work, rep calls, talking with other pilots, etc. Everyone, and I mean everyone in the pilot seat of a jet has a role in that effort.
T never flew at swa, but he is a well known poster on the swa threads. In that light, he is probably one of the last people that should think current delta pilots aren't allowed to have an opinion on the direction of their company and contract.
Just my observation.

As far as being "well known" on the SWA threads, I have maybe 5 or 6 there that I can recall. A few of them were even asking for information, not lob grenades although it is kinds fun over there when they are being lobbed at someone else. When they are constantly fired within the circle though, that's different. At least in my eyes. (And I don't post on SWA anymore) So I guess you find it acceptable for him to fire within the circle post after post after post, and see it only as a love for DAL and a desire to foster unity.

No, you misunderstand. My input is that while responding to his posts you shouldn't promote a view that says some pilots can't cite sacrifices which occurred prior to their coming on property. It's divisive and at the end of the day undermines unity. You're trying to avoid this fact with your non sequiturs. But if you're still of this opinion and can't find your way to seeing my point, I await your next excuse as nothing more from me will convince you otherwise.
Looks like few are taking Ferd and Denny's advice. I feel like banging my head against the wall after skimming the last few pages. Read the first couple lines "yep, same crap" next post... same thing.... same thing. OH MY GOSH.
