From the amount of open time today (and lack of awarded trips) for ATLM88B it would appear the scheduler just threw their computer out the window and walked off the job.

Pilot reserve levels are color coded for every day. Black is capped, blue is not. You can only move off days to the blue days.

ATL meltdown
Last night in ATL was absolutely embarrassing for Delta.
Passengers all over the terminal, planes with no pilots or flight attendants, pilots and flight attendants with no plane....Impossible to get through to crew tracking or accommodations. I finally left @ 2 A.M. airport jammed with pax... What a nightmare.......... |

Atlanta had another patented meltdown last night. Guys were timming out left and right, 4+ hour holds to speak to anyone in crew ops support, dozens of pilots sleeping in the lounge because the couldn't get a hotel or get through to accommodations. Good times! |

It will only get worse, Delta needs 3000+ pilots over the next few years to cover what they currently have, and the DCI collapse. Personally, I don't think they will be able to hire fast enough.
Any diversion at the end of an 8+ block day leaves you and your pax dead in the water. Timed out recently at JFK taxing out. They planned 18 mins of taxi during the afternoon int push. Took 6 hours to find another crew. |

They thought they were gonna be able to squeeze more out of us using 117, that's why they delayed hiring. How's that working out?

Atlanta was a goat rope last night. Having missed the ice events, this was my first time to witness a total meltdown. We taxied out for flt to Atlanta, sat an hour and gate returned. Almost 3 hours later got airborne 2:30 enroute scheduled turned into 5:37 block.
117 duty was 12/14/9 and contractual was a max of 12.45. Ended up at 13.09. Is there anything we need to do (paperwork wise) due to exceeding the 12?
