Does jury duty count as rest?

Yes, because it is not duty required by Delta. The same thing goes for commuting to work, changing diapers at 2AM, or flying your GA airplane.

But any of these could affect your ability to report fit for duty.

In the initial drafts of the regulation there was no distinction between commuting and deadhead. ALPA (for one) worked to make that distinction.

If you propose we get rid of everything non work related that keeps us from rest, we need to start with our children, ...

I was being sarcastic. I was pointing out how ridiculous it is to consider commuting as duty. Just because I'm on an airplane headed to work, doesn't mean that I'm on duty.

Anyone ever jumpseat on Air Canada or Westjet from Canada to US? Looking to deviate from a DH but Air Canada and Westjet are the only direct flights. Can I just walk up to the gate? Taxes? Thx

Random question of the day....

Time for new work pants and not sure if if I should go with the pleated or flat. So Pleated vs. Flat, thoughts?

How do you deal with the 10k' restriction? Aren't all the approaches and taxi diagrams on there?

Use paper charts below 10k until FAA test starts...a step in the right direction.

Depends ... are you asleep? The OJ Jury seemed pretty well rested and the Supreme Court does not seem to be missing any sleep.

I think it might be perilous to seek fashion advice from guys in their forties and fifties, but I will try to include this in the Contract Survey.

Which really makes no sense to me. Could I not be out piddling around in a GA airplane before my trip? Would that not be duty?

Or spending 3+ hours slamming potholes and sitting in toll lines and traffic jams being a NYC "local"?
