Meeting opened in closed session. During this time the MEC gave direction to the Negotiating Committee, which left the meeting to meet with the Company and attempt to arrive at a Tentative Agreement regarding a possible early retirement program for Delta Pilots.

If our President improperly authorizes Pinnacle bargaining, who cares?

If our President improperly authorizes Virgin Atlantic bargaining with Delta management, maybe somebody might give a ****.

I was told it was not worth the $25,000 cost to call an Executive Board. Pinnacle bargaining cost our profession tens of millions.

ALPA Presidential elections matter; they matter greatly.

Status Rep elections matter; they matter greatly.

I honestly do not know if the Delta pilots care. Have we ever heard them speak on the matter?

Not bad news to a 10k+ seniority guy, too. I'm interested to hear the details.... however, I can't believe we can't justify 16 whales with our network size.

I've been prompted by a close firend at UA to look at the letter from their newest candidate. I highly respect this individual, and I generally respect what he says to be the truth- he is very connected. He knows my feelings on this, so I'm going to throw this out to the deltoids (and whoever else is listening).

We've been sent a couple letters from UA types to all of us. The DL candidate just addresses the leadership because those are who will vote for him. That ticks me off to no end. He's just pandering to the higher ups knowing most pilots have no say in the matter.

None of the letters address the removal from our involvement in electing the ALPA president. None.

The UA people are trying to rally the troops... well that's great, but what I say to my rep won't make a flying moak in influence to what they actually vote.

Why are none of the people running for president addressing the issue that the membership is almost completely removed from electing the president? You want a bottom up organization, Heide and Heppner? Well... you'd better start with this. Otherwise you're just another fart in the wind of political panderers.
