Every once in a while, the truth slips out from a DALPA insider. If you're not an "insider", you're trying to control our contract from the "outside". One of DALPA's biggest problems is this issue of dues paying members being labeled as "outsiders".

Why should we care whether she falls under your definition of an "outsider." Moak's an "insider." And he just sold us down the river. He is looking out for himself, and has done worse than nothing; he's taken up the case against us. The "wolf" is in the henhouse, and you're unable or unwilling to admit it. Those of us who aren't one of Moak's disciples and are capable of exercising common sense will take the "outsider," thank you. |

Just to put some reality into the hours worked here are some numbers. The average Delta pilot flew in the 40 to 42 hour a month range from 200o to 2005. Post chapter 11 that jumped to 52 hours or almost 20 percent more. That number has slowly dropped as we incrementally gained improvements. In 2013 the number was 41.9 hours up slightly from 2012.
Please site your source for the information you posted. Where did you get those numbers. And do those numbers include guys who aren't actively flying (Mil leave, disability, ect). Links to the source would be best, thanks. |

Buddy of mine bought the black. He begged me out of a 64GB card I had and never seems to do much with his files due to the hassle of working with such large output (could just be him, I dunno).

Since the missile attack on one of its aircraft in Ukraine, which followed the March disappearance of another Boeing 777, it's believed that family pressure has also convinced some of the flying staff to find other work. At total of 186 people quit following the Ukraine incident. More than 500 people, including 27 crew, are either dead or missing without a trace in the two incidents. "Following the MH17 incident, there was a spike in crew resignations but the number has now decreased to acceptable and routinely expected levels," the airline said in a statement. "Many cited 'family pressure' as the reason for their resignation due to the MH17 and MH370 tragedies." Meanwhile, Thai Airways is denying reports that it's facing an exodus from its cockpits over the airline's troubled financial situation. A local report said 200 pilots quit suddenly because they're worried about the deficit the state-controlled carrier is running and the debts it's running up. The airline told a news conference Monday that 30 pilots have quit but it hasn't affected operations. Thai Airways announced earlier this year that it is restructuring after more than a year of heavy losses and will lose about 25 percent of its workforce by 2018. The airline now has 24,000 employees operating a mostly aging mixed fleet of Boeing and Airbus aircraft and faces stiff competition from carriers springing up in neighboring countries. Restructuring of the airline was ordered by the ruling military junta, which has given orders to a so-called "super committee" to restore the airline to world-class status over the next five years. |

Sailing...how can that be....? Had Dave Bushy(sp?) on the jumpseat two weeks after he stepped down as flight ops big wig back in late '01 or '02ish. He claimed those EXACT same numbers to my captain (actually claimed 49 hour average) when he made the statement that the pilots needed to be more productive. The same number was told to me by Mike Hanson prior to our latest agreement. How is this number possible? We are flying more hours with fewer pilots... I am challenged being a product of the Louisiana edumication sistem but something just doesn't smell right...DW

You and Carl have been railing for years now about how National has too much influence in Delta pilot's affairs/"conflict of interest"/yadayada Now suddenly you seem to be in favor of a United pilot dictating to the Delta pilot group what we should be willing to accept in a contract. Which is it? And Purple, you and Carl are the only ones labeling yourselves as outsiders - which you both seem to covet as a badge of honor or something... We're on the same team whether you like it or not. |
pardon me if i'm late to respond here, but of course reserve is more senior now. It's more senior because of these ridiculously sized raw bucket windows that really help senior guys not have to work. Also we need 5:15 min day, not 5:15 ADG..what a joke that is.
