What does it look like with the 321's added in and some of the older Airbi parked?
That's a great point. I think the 321 will carry more passengers than the 737-900. What is the pay rate on the 321? I did not see a rate included in the contract comparison. It should pay closer to the 757 rate, but if it is banded with the 319/320 rates then they should all be bumped up to at least the 737 rate. Scoop |

If not, then we can pass on this deal. |

True enough. However, each of these displacements will prevent someone else's upward movement -- which otherwise would have occurred. Having the 747 pilots retire would be in everyone's best interest.

Say, gomer, how about a credibility check. Now that you're here, would you please weigh in on Moak's comments from a few days ago? Did they help us or hurt us?

Keep up the good work, sailingfun. Well, keep up the work, anyway. |

Did nothing. I'm of the belief that we negotiate contracts with Delta, not Bloomberg. You might have a different view. Actually, I know you have a different view. Your's believes the number of posts you put up here slamming pilots with a different perspective is the same as doing something. Ether. What's your take on Heidi's letter versus Heppner's? Which one will you choose? Carl |

There is another component not mentioned to a ER program that might make the company willing to open their purse strings a bit more. This is a personal opinion only but the company is very concerned about the actual timing of retirements. After almost no early outs for a year we suddenly had a spike in guys leaving early the first 6 months of the year. Retirements the next few years are still light compared to 2018..... They smooth the retirement flow and can release those pilots on their time line not the whims of the pilots. We will know in a two weeks what they have offered.
I was completely agreeing with your reasoning and sort of discounting T's comments as a bit of hating on the whale guys... Until this post. The upcoming training cascade from future retirements has the potential to provide considerable leverage in upcoming negotiations- leverage that some might think should be used to benefit the entire pilot group. At first glance I don't have a problem with a few whale guys getting a couple bucks to save everyone involved a little headache (and for the record I totally agree that folks are overestimating the amount of training that would be caused by those displacements)... But your line of thinking in the above post in my mind, starts down the path of monetizing a great deal of the entire pilot group's future leverage to have a select few benefit. I'm not opposed to having that conversation, but I'll just throw out the suggestion that if we're going to go down the path of solving the retirement planning problem for the company, consideration should be given to spreading the love. |

Ether. Thank goodness for all of us you're not running for his position, or we'd be hosed. You aren't running....are you? |
Question for reserve guys. I was put on a 30 hour rest to satisfy FAR 117. I come off that rest at 0100 and show LC. What would my earliest show time be coming off of rest? Could they assign a trip to me with a 0101 show time or do they need to give me a 12 hr call out.
