If nothing has changed because of the FAR 117 TA then the answer is the earliest you could show is at 0600 if and only if they had that on your schedule by 1600 the day before. The rules is/was, when coming off a non-fly day you can show as early as 5 hours after the end of your last non-fly day but only if they get it on your schedule at least nine hours before the end of your same non-fly day. This is why you could show as early as 0500 on your first reserve day but only if they had it on there before 1500. Coincidentally, everyone thinks the 1500 deadline is for us to check our schedule but in reality it is more a deadline for them to get something on our schedule if they want you to show before noon.

So, if they don't have something on there by 1600 (0100 minus nine hours) you go on 12 hour long call at 0100. Unless this somehow changed in the last 3 months with the 117 TA.

Karnak! Long time no see!

What's your take on Heidi's letter versus Heppner's? Which one will you choose?

Carl

Wrong guy.

I have just as much choice in this as you do, thankfully.

Ok, "Last Weekend of Summer" kind of thing, who else is out there doing BBQ???
My travel plans got cancelled due to sick kid and wife this morning, but I'm trying to make the best of it with a nice holiday cookout.

So, ribs and lemon-garlic chicken on the smoker; baked beans; corn on the cob; mixed salad;
-- Blue Moon, Shocktop lemon-shandy, Murphy's Irish Stout, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Sam Adams Lager and Octoberfest, Bud Lime, Newcastle Werewolf, Paulaner Weizenbier, Franziskaner Ur-Weizen...

All available, but can probably only do three... which to have, which to have???

Let's hear some holiday BBQ "enjoying life" posts for a change-up hey??
;)

Sounds like more delays.

The incompetence shown thus far is pretty embarrassing.

I agree. It is pretty sad.

When you come off rest, you go to LC since they didn't pre-notify you of starting a SC or trip. Therefore at 0100 you enter LC and need 12 hrs notice before a trip.

Have fun with that while us junior peeps are working.

On a different note, here is a video about the first "Air Force One." As a side note, my father did the testing and check out of the Navy version of the Constellation at Pax River.

Can they call you in the middle of your 30 hours to meet that 12 hour notification or put something on your schedule during that period that you are required to check at some point?

Start with a big Tri-Tip, marinated for days in molasses, Worcestershire, garlic, pepper, coffee, red wine, tequila and Tamarind sauce.

Beer: Laguanitas IPA & Sierra Nevada Torpedos for the men, Lost Coast Great Whites and Corona Light for the frail ones.

The unfinished tequila not used on the tri-tip could come in hand later late night.

That's a Central Coast weekend.
