Good thing they just flew them all over the world to get the entire cabin and associated entertainment electrical system torn out and replaced.

Maybe it isn't an 18 aircraft fleet

Alternatively, why not fly the whales with a couple of engines shut down? My father did a three engine ferry with a 100, then ended up shutting another down. They made it from Africa to Miami just fine (at which point he got off the airplane and refused to fly it any more).

I'd just rather relevant and useful information be put out, that's all, especially to someone not yet hired.
I don't think I was slamming you, T.

Now that we know it's better to use seniority numbers as a means of reference, and since the position of on pilot isn't going to change relative to another pilot, we're pretty much good on this topic.

Plus, no adjustment for "his" fleet or network going away because Delta management is to blame for that.

yeah, that all sounds reasonable ... can we use him to threaten other airlines? I mean, say "here is our merger committee, but if you make this difficult, we're unleashing our Plouffe."

For some reason I like the guy. He's absolutely insane*, God love him.

I don't know. I moved back 5000 numbers.

So according to him, should the S guys get credit for the demise of the whales?

It was a rhetorical question as I know his answer. I heard enough of his argument on the old dALPA site.

Unregard.. I see you addressed that in a sentence above that I didn't read...

If a pilot is seat locked, can he or she be awarded a newly established category and equipment? For example, a 330B has a year left on the 2 year lock, can he or she be awarded MSP 777B on the opening bid? Does the same apply to a B that gets an A award in a newly established category? I know in the case of an upgrade, they take the lock and apply the remaining time to the captain position, but does that apply in the case of a newly established category? For example, would our 330B to a 777A incur a 3 year lock or only 2? I thought this was addressed in Filling of Vacancies but I can't find any reference to brand new categories or bases...
