Hey mods,
It's bad enough to wade through pages of sports banter on a supposed aviation forum, but now pages of politics? What's next, religion?
I'm pretty sure there are plenty of forums that cover sports, politics, religion, etc.
How 'bout some temporary bans to get this forum back on track? (Or at least a "hanger talk" type thread, where one can discuss anything.)
Flame away.

No flame needed - you have a valid complaint. Here is the problem - this is an anonymous open forum. I have tried deleting posts that push the TOS but, and pardon the cheesy Western Movie paraphrase,
"We moderators are few, posters are many!"
So with that in mind I will delete egregious and blatant violations of the TOS but prefer not to stifle some of the more minor transgressions.
Finally when something worthwhile/significant happens at DAL the thread tends to focus pretty much automatically - in quiet times it wanders.

There are currently NO forums that provide a venue for discussing politics...
From the most recent posts, I'm guessing this doesn't apply to the L & G thread.
So you're walking off a jet and an attractive female blonde FO is coming down the jetway to take the airplane next. The appropriate first words out of your mouth are:
A) something to let her know you think she is pretty or hot, preferably by immediately using the words pretty and/or hot.
B) don't say anything about how attractive or hot she is.
_________
I thought it was B, but it seems like answer A is in the FOM somewhere. It just has to be.

FAR 117 30 hour rest is NOT the same as a regular X day. They can't require us to be aware of any duty that was not assigned BEFORE the 30 hours began.
The FAA says any obligation to check your schedule OR acknowledge duty breaks the rest.
Read Scenario #1 and the 2 questions:
[url]/http McFadden interpretation
If you haven't been assigned something before starting the 30 hours then you just go on long call at the end. There is no "Last non-fly day" 9 hours prior self notification type situation when it is FAA required rest.
