Same here..automatic no vote for me. Imagine how much negotiating capital we'll have to spend to get rid of them once they become established as "past practice".
Visited the alternative site today..my short time on APC and the responses from my rep regarding CDO's has got me thinking about donuts. What is their stand on this issue? I don't want any part of a crowd that is trying to harm one of us for political traction. Even if everything they allege is true, it was such a stupid prank that I can't believe we're even still talking about it. They'll claim until the cows come home that they are simply defending their right to contest representation, but this is really about being vindictive and trying to get a few "sensation" points. I don't have any skin in this either way, but it pi$$es me off that TC and the gang won't let this go. It appears they will settle for nothing less than a public shaming (at best) or ruining somebody's career (totally unacceptable) all for a little attention. Not singling you out CG, but your post happened to be the first one I saw after reading TC's latest editorial. |

Continuous Duty Overnight
As in, sign in late, fly a 2.5hr leg to somewhere, land after midnight, have a 3 hour nap somewhere, if you're not late, then depart at 0600 for a 2.5 leg back to base. Counts as one duty period, no break, thus the "Continuous Duty". Fly me to the max day possible and then put me to bed. That's all I ask. |

But would you fly it if it were a 0.5 hour flight from ATL-AGS, 6 hours behind a hotel door--never ever reducible--and the 0.5 hour flight back? Apparently that is how NWA did it for a long time and guys liked it.
Again, I ask. How does this square with the FAA's reg for 8 hours of sleep? I'm assuming because it fits into the definition of a duty day. I, for one, am much more fatigued after a "sit" then I am flying multiple legs with minimum turn. It's a switch on, switch off for me. YMMV. |

Seriously? You mean the guys that are apparently looking for blood from a fellow Delta pilot (if any "hacking" even took place.)

FWIW, this "hacking" sideshow is not bringing any pilots together and will only weaken us going forward.. The alternative crowd would be wise to make it go away. And DALPA would be wise to make CDO's go away.. |

It's a complete waste of my time and it takes two days to do a one day trip. NOW...if it paid say, 10:30 hours, then I might think about it (and still not bid it) but for two days out of my life, I want at least 5:15/day, i.e. 10:30. BUT...I'm a commuter, my time is valuable, if I have to spend 5 hours both ways to get to/from ATL, it better be for at least 25hr. trip. Some guy who lives in PTC might love it. Great, let him fly them, but don't you dare assign it to a commuting reserve. How about we make them "Un-assignable" as in, you must BID IT to fly it. No reserve should be stuck with it, and no line holder should be Un-stacked into one. |
I don't like the idea of them to be honest. I am just saying that a hard, 6 hour behind the door restriction (NEVER reducible) in between two very short flights is quite a bit different than 3 hours only between much longer flights m

I liked your idea of no one flies them ever unless they specifically asked for them. I would vote against any TA with SDPs that did not have that protection.
I might vote no to any TA with SDPs even if it did! Once it became a known yellow fever/malaria destination, well, then Screw Sceds couldn't assign it to a reserve, it had to be white or green slipped. MED trips like that should ALWAYS pay double! But, the same restrictions could be put on CDO's, i.e. they must be white/green slipped or bid in the original bid run. Still, as Buzz points out, you are condoning something the FAA and ALPA is supposed to be against rest wise. (less than 9hrs. behind the door) If I had my way... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGDZdy8lDmc |
