Good morning. Thanks for taking my question. This is a question for Paul. How should we think about 2015 non-fuel unit costs, taking into account the recent wage increase and if a pilot deal work to get done sooner than later? How comfortable do you feel you can still achieve the less than 2% growth in non-fuel CASM again after such strong cost performance over the last five quarters? Paul Jacobson - CFO Good morning, Julie. Well, heading into 2015 as we’re developing our operating plan right now, we still have the benefit of further increases in operating leverages as we continue to re-fleet and upgauge the airline, so that’s providing a lot of tailwind. We do have some cost pressures in 2015 but we have those every year. So we feel confident about our ability to keep it below 2% again next year.[/QUOTE] Well there you go... |

Just one small fact to interject. The contract is not amendable until 2016. My point is/was, even though we are getting a 3% raise on Jan 1. and the F/A's and others are getting 4%, operating costs will not rise above 2%, due in part to the concessions we gave up to get the 3% raise, and parking the 747's, etc. At least we didn't leave any money on the table in 2012, you know what a mess that would have made! Who would have to clean up that table? Richard? Oh...wait. |

they have figured it out. There are 320 trips in SLC that pay a 3 day more than 15:45 with no credit. First day is a nightmare, day 3 is a nightmare, middle day off is FREE and not at home.
515 average is a joke. |

Dude, it beats the hell outta what we had. I'm sorry that you're sorry....but most of us are thrilled. You're unhappy about a 3-day that pays more than 15:45 because there's no credit? Credits great but how about we get paid for TAFB? I'll take that any day.
I wish we had a daily MINIMUM of 6:00, for everything, training, vacation, CQ CD watching, etc., not a daily AVERAGE of only 5:15. |

I read it that his complaint was, no commutable trips, due to early sign in, late release, due to cramming 8+ hours into day 1 and day 3, to get near the average of 5:15.

I love it when people complain about Obama Care and don't even understand what it is. While I may not agree with the whole "act", I think it is important that people at least understand what it is and how it works. All of us will be buying our health care insurance that way within 5 years anyways so you just as well get to know what we've got.
You have just as much chance of getting shuffled around on UHC insurance through Delta as someone does who purchases insurance through an exchange. No one is "on" the affordable care ac,t they buy insurance through an exchange. In fact, in some states people "on" the affordable care act have access to the exact same plans we do from UHC, they just pay more in premiums. So, they have no more chance of being denied coverage than you or I do. In my area I can purchase a BCBS HSA plan from the exchange that is almost identical to what Delta is offering in the Silver HSA plan for 2015. Delta will charge me about $200/mo while on the exchange the plan costs about $750. Right now that is not very "affordable" unless I become unemployed and don't have access to an employer provided plan. If I had to pay COBRA premiums to keep my Delta UHC plan I would be just over $1000 an month so at that point it is a more affordable option to get health care coverage for my family. At the end of the day, either way I get my health insurance it is provided by a private insurance company. As long as I "choose" the plan that has the coverage I need, I should not get denied coverage if I get Ebola whether I have UHC insurance through Delta or through an Exchange. |

Absolutely. It is a huge, huge improvement for QOL in LAX on the 73N- but we pretty much had the worse bid package in the system so pretty much anything was going to help us. A couple of years ago I analyzed our bid package. 1/3 of our bid package were 4 day red-eyes that paid between 17 and 20 hours. Granted that was the worse month that I had seen, but you get the point. The guys near the bottom that were working 16 days for between 68-72 hours now will get at least 84 for the same flying!
