lol. I was speaking of American Football. I do however, greatly appreciate the sport of hockey and the Falcons in particular. What a great way to spend a school night as a Doolie, a free hockey game.

Earlier today I was channel surfing looking for a game to watch, and I found a Rugby game! It was the World Champion New Zealand All Blacks, vs. the "Team USA".

I didn't even know we HAD a US Rugby team, but after watching them lose by about 68-6, I'm convinced we don't! :rolleyes:

If they could tackle they'd be up two TDs.

The USA Eagles are not in the same class as NZ or SA or AU. They are like the USMNT (soccer), can hang with and win the region but struggle on the top world stage.

I played rugby in college and for about 10 years after for various clubs where I was stationed. It's a tremendous game. American football can learn a lot from Rugby football especially in tackling. I firmly believe if you want to reduce concussion in football, get rid of the helmets. I busted a few lips and had many cuts and abrasions, but never had or knew anyone with a concussion.

I had never watched a Rugby match all the way through until I was on a Singapore layover when the All Blacks were playing Australia for the World Championship. Every bar on the river walk had the match on, so I got a beer, got interested and went back to my room to watch the rest of it.

It was AWESOME! Lots of great plays, and lots of busted noses and broken fingers and bloody ears! But you are right about the concussions, as a kid I played football from age 8 through 17. We were always taught to, "Put your helmet on him!" i.e. lead with your head. I had a few concussions in high school and I saw a lot more.
