Anyone on here have any info on buying gold bars? I figure since everyone thinks I'm filthy rich I just as well have a few gold bars in the safe to throw around during parties.

Hey I agree. But if we "monetized" this profit sharing with even significant pay raises there would be some serious objections

But you know what, maybe we can just change the system and prove to Wall Street that maybe this way that DAL is pursuing is better than the status quo and maybe others could emulate it, rather than get rid of it.

Not sure who eventually figured it out but some lucky dude got a GS.
Going to SEA? The guy who got the GS was a friend of mine. They original crew got an ACARS after pushback saying don't go, is what he said.

Check out:

1) Colorado Gold -- Precious Metals Broker -- Bullion Coins and Bars
2) APMEX | Silver, Silver Bar, Silver Bars, Silver Bullion, Gold and More - APMEX.com | APMEX.com
3) Precious Metals Investing - Gold Trading - Invest in Silver and Gold
4) GoldDealer.com - Great National Pricing - Free Shipping

This should get you started. Look for fees, shipping time, type and weight. Prices are getting lower.

I would wait for it to descend to the high $700s.

Late 2015.

This is not a change in plan. I am speaking only of the airframes that were staying in the fleet plan long term. The schedule for the planned retirements on the on the other airframes has not changed.

If we were all smart enough to quit making stupid mistakes like these, I would agree.
I've had from, "I don't care what you do" to the "tell me every time you touch the box" range of CAs. If EXEC is going to be pushed, both should agree to the changes/input.

I agree with you. It's constant blah blah blah in the cockpit now. It's numbing. The PM was always expected to be following along with the PF anyway. It was just done in a much more subtle way. As a former mil instructor pilot, my goal was to know exactly what the other guy was doing but not be in his face and I definitely didn't expect him to ask permission before doing his job. Some things yes, but I think we've crossed the line into numerous extraneous exchanges.

So if you're on LCR, you are dead to them at 0800 Saturday, or 1800 if you're on SCR.

.

I am confused with the first paragraph's last sentence. What does it mean "if you don't start duty before 2000..."? If I start a duty period (FDP or SCR) that runs past 2000 Saturday, then I will not have 30 rest in last 168.

Also, ...on my first day of reserve, I got assigned SC at 1100. Did my duty begin at 0000 (no rest comment on schedule) or is the first 11 hours of that first day considered rest?

Seriously? I certainly believe in double checking each other, but this "getting permission" to execute everything is getting ridiculous. With 20-30 years + of experience for each of us, I expect each of us to have "graduate level" flying abilities. (Although I fully realize this "std text/sopa/smac" philosophy is rapidly coming to a theatre near you... Yay! )

I guess I'm a bit of a dinosaur... retirement can't come soon enough.

BTW, my brief into the ATL on a Cavu day is: "Std vmc brief. Any questions?" (How many bazillion times has an ATL pilot flown into ATL? I really don't think I need any more brief than this to be safe. YMMV.)
