Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
I don't think you can PD or swap a reserve day unless it is a minimum of 2 days ahead of time. IOW, you can't drop or swap tomorrows reserve day, I think.

He was an addition to this negotiating committee after the MEC administration purge from the C2012 debacle. He was new to this negotiating committee, not new to union negotiations. Didn't intend to infer otherwise. The point was that I don't recall any DPA post that criticized him.

In that sense then I guess he and the chairman were both new as Coons was the only continuos participant. Heiko was not elected after the "swift boating" election and was out for a year or thereabouts.
It will be interesting to see who pops up in this "crisis." My guess is you are about to see some VERY familiar names pushed. If they would have stuck with 4, this would not be as time critical as it is now.
How this negotiators election goes will go a long way in determining my confidence level for 2015.

It also says:
"New...category means, for the purposes of Section 22, a category that has not been in existence for 60 days since the date of the first opportunity for the first conversion"
So you might get another bite at the apple if there is another immediate AE the following month. I'm not sure though. New categories coupled with almost constant mothly AE's is somewhat uncharted territory so I hesitate to say for sure. Normally in most cases you only got 1 chance to bid it but in this case you may get 2 depending on the frequency of the AE's in conjunction with the new category.
That said, it really doesn't matter because you're either going to get it or you're not if you have a bid in for it, and you should NEVER have an AE/VD bid in for something you don't want or even want less than what you currently have. In your case that also means don't have a bid in unless you're willing to be the plug…possibly for a while. If that bothers you, throw in a percentage qualifier. However if you do that, you need to be OK with not getting it when you could have been the plug.
Just to muddy the mud even more, the flying in new categories tends to suck for a while. However the first attempt might be your only way in for a long time, precicely because more senior pilots who want it, and intend to bid it in the future, may bypass on the first attempt. That could get you a plug position, but then on future AE's here come the senior bidders "pushing you down" and keeping you the plug, possibly for years.
Do not bid it unless you want it. If you want it, don't forget to bid it.

All true and very good advice. I will add to it in that in the future with growth aircraft, hiring, and retirements even if you are the plug it probably wouldn't be for long.
Hopefully the days of stagnation are behind us and we will see continual and steady movement.

This could however all change by tomorrow.

On 20 DEC they will start running drops and swaps every 5 hours as mentioned for next month. You can work miracles if you understand the system. Get on the DALPA site and find the how to swap on reserve tutorial.

You were never a DPA supporter Dorfman, we've been over this. You're a DALPA guy through and through. Which is fine. I'm glad your happy with them.
Regarding Heiko, I don't recall a single post from DPA ever criticizing him. He was a relatively new guy there anyway.

I was and here's the deal I will make. I will give you my name via pm if you reciprocate back and you can go check the cards. I was on board with DPA early on. I liked the initial platform of us keeping more of our money, separate representation from RJs, and getting rid of some of the bloating waste in ALPA. TC lost it with his tone and style of updates and turned me off.
I am not happy or unhappy with ALPA on every issue but DPA just has not proven they are a good option. As for DPA being critical of Hieko as has been pointed out he was a long time negotiator and DPA has been critical of the team as a whole.
I recall the resolution calling for our paycheck on 30th to be half the guarantee, instead of the token amount paid under the legacy Delta system, as being instructions for the MEC chair to "investigate" changes.
I also recall you complaining about resolutions that were "received" as being buried.
DPA is spewing lies, and I don't see you calling them out on it. Is it because you still have a rollaboard full of DPA cards and stickers?
