On 20 DEC they will start running drops and swaps every 5 hours as mentioned for next month. You can work miracles if you understand the system. Get on the DALPA site and find the how to swap on reserve tutorial.

You were never a DPA supporter Dorfman, we've been over this. You're a DALPA guy through and through. Which is fine. I'm glad your happy with them.
Regarding Heiko, I don't recall a single post from DPA ever criticizing him. He was a relatively new guy there anyway.

I was and here's the deal I will make. I will give you my name via pm if you reciprocate back and you can go check the cards. I was on board with DPA early on. I liked the initial platform of us keeping more of our money, separate representation from RJs, and getting rid of some of the bloating waste in ALPA. TC lost it with his tone and style of updates and turned me off.
I am not happy or unhappy with ALPA on every issue but DPA just has not proven they are a good option. As for DPA being critical of Hieko as has been pointed out he was a long time negotiator and DPA has been critical of the team as a whole.
I recall the resolution calling for our paycheck on 30th to be half the guarantee, instead of the token amount paid under the legacy Delta system, as being instructions for the MEC chair to "investigate" changes.
I also recall you complaining about resolutions that were "received" as being buried.
DPA is spewing lies, and I don't see you calling them out on it. Is it because you still have a rollaboard full of DPA cards and stickers?

Thanks for the opinion. My take is that as long as I wouldn't be involuntarily displaced, I don't think it would be horrible to be the plug as long as I lived in domicile. While I like money as much as the next guy, I could be happy just pulling in reserve guarantee for a couple years if it meant I'd have lots of free time to enjoy my family and the outdoors. As a new guy who really doesn't have any concept of life as the plug, would that be a fairly accurate assessment?
My wife followed me for 16 years in the AF so I promised her she could pick any domicile where I could hold an airframe. She has given me the options of Seattle and Atlanta. I currently live in San Antonio and hate how I'm basically a prisoner in my own home for 5-6 months of the year due to the heat/humidity and I don't see that being any different in Atlanta. Due to kids in school we need to move this summer or not at all, and even on positive space I don't like commuting which means we are definitely moving this summer. If I can't get SEA on the January AE then it is unlikely I'd be able to get there any time soon anyway so I feel like this is my one shot to break free of the south .
As for the new category, tell me about it . I'm ecstatic to have been hired by DAL, but my 717 NYC reserve schedule in January will not be one of my selling points to the bros who are asking about staying in/getting out. I think it would sting a lot less if my goofy reserve schedule was spent sitting at home with the family rather than commuting back and forth to the crash pad.

While you are commuting on reserve I would personal drop a lot. You are not getting paid that much anyway. You lose the pay for that day. Make sure however you selected personal drop. There is also authorized leave but that is a silver bullet you only get once each year. For your JAN schedule move your off days into big blocks and personal drop two or three days. You will find it very tolerable. At about 5:10 EST you should know if your drop for the 20th is approved.

And ATL isn't that bad. It gets hot and humid in the summer but IMO not nearly as bad or as much as SAT. If you can handle a little bit of a drive (1-1.5hrs no traffic) you can get into some great foothills country with awesome outdoor QOL in my opinion.
SEA is pretty great too though.

Not if your on first year pay and retired military. You can also make the time up from your bank and repay the bank when your a line holder.
