Acl,
I agree with dtw for quality of life/bidding power for those of us in the lower 50%. As a DFW commuter I will go where I can make the most money balanced with QOL. The hassle of NYC will probably keep me away from there, despite some of the best variety of flying. Msp 2hrs, Dtw 2:30, Mem 1:15 and Atl 1:45-2hrs are all a wash. Now, if they would open up that DFW base...........

In reality the wife has given me approval for a 777B bid ;) It really is not bad up there. I actually like it, but I will qualify that with the fact that I am from Wisconsin, and I like the cold, a lot. Ann Arbor is an awesome place and there is always, um something to do....... DTW will offer the most opportunities for the guys below 50% of the seniority list, and should be willing to improve their QOL if they cannot afford to sit on 88 or 9 reserve in ATL. |
Hmmm... What airplanes do we have based in DTW?

It is pretty interesting that that clause is in there. It raises some interesting questions as well. 1. Did DAL negotiate the clause because United and US Airways have it, too? 2. Did they negotiate the clause because DALPA forced them to do it? 3. Did they negotiate the clause because they saw the possibility of wanting a future DB plan back at DAL? Seriously, if they really hated funding the DB concept and it provided no benefits for them, then I wonder why they went out of their way to put that clause in there? I mean, without that clause, if we did come back in 10 years demanding a DB plan like AMR, they could have just pointed to ERISA and the PBGC and that would have been the end to that. One "Sorry, dudes. It's illegal," and that would have been the end to that. At the very least, it allows me to continue to pick at ts. His dislike for anyone that likes the Gators has intensified as the season has progressed. :) New K Now |

Are you saying that all the 747-400's will come out of DTW? If so, where will they go?

I just get very leery of what types of stipulations the company would put on a new DC plan. Just give me my money. I do not want the company to have any power of my retirement other than having to deposit money in to an account for me.

I get a bad feeling that over time we will initiate that program again and it will act as the hammer management needs to work us over. We should just sit back and look forward to what the future will hold knowing that management lost its most precious tool in hammering the pilots. I hope we do not give it back to them.... |
How come PBS is still open? It should've closed at 8am but it is still allowing you to mess with it. I messed with mine and submitted it and it took. Just odd because usually at 801 you cannot log back into it.
