Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
All of this strike talk got me thinking. Everyone should always be prepared for a strike or any other unexpected event. Each and every one of us should have accessible funds set aside equal to at least 6 months living expenses. If you don't, then start saving now. God forbid if in the future another 9-11 or strike should rear its ugly head, it's too late to start saving. Much easier to save when times are good. Personally, having been furloughed twice, my fund has considerably more thatn 6 months worth in it. YMMV. This has been a public service announcement.
Cliff's notes version: don't carry revolving debt, don't buy toys on credit, set up automatic withdrawals into your savings vehicles.
Correct in that Q open time is a denied PD due to capped reserve days. I'm just curious why someone who is trying to drop a trip wouldn't also have the trip on the swap board as a P/U? If you can't rely on the PD then give yourself another option via a P/U.

If you can put on your neutral hat for a moment I thnk you will see that the arrogance and condescension of the usual suspects deteriorates the debate.
The participants who stay on the high road do a service to us all.
I am guilty of not keeping it professional. Our big pilot egos get the best of us sometimes.

Because some of our pilots remain amazingly ignorant. I have flown with quite a few who to this day aren't aware of many beneficial items, whether it be the Swapboard, bidding for CQ, vacation slide, etc.
However, I don't bid for CQ. It doesn't matter to me.

I like that idea of a DALPA goal: Min Value of a monthly line: 92 hours, because you're right, what I'm getting now isn't much. (But ALPA should be paid more than the avg line pilot). Wait, forgot, DALPA doesn't set goals. Back to my corner wearing a backpack of humble with expectations managed.
I agree. The problem I have is that I attempt to inform them...to my peril. The biggest recent ignorance, and it's inexcusable really, is FAR 117 rules understanding. It only takes an hour of self education to be a green slipping machine in my category, but I see senior guys still white slipping and complaining they can't get a greenie...oh well...
However, I don't bid for CQ. It doesn't matter to me.

Sorry to jump in here guys...does anyone know if a Belgian beer has an expiration date? The "Angrypilotwife" just found Leffe blue in our pantry. Needless to say, I'd appreciate any advice that might make me sound knowledgeable. Bought the beer in Brussels 2 years ago.
Drink it. If it sucks, it's out of date.
