So keep hearing the company wants to change sick time. Why do they want to change the system THEY came up with? Either keep it how it is or go back to the way it was before.

And it's like an awesome number. $7000. And you happily go enter it on turbotax and all of the "what you gettin' back" numbers go up up up. It's great.

But you wrong. You do have to put in your per diem. Pro Diem mentions it.

Then you do. Turbotax steps you through finding the per diem and putting it in. Then you watch those "you gettin' back numbers" go back down some.

The company did not come up with this system and they would certainly love to go back to the old one. You know the one where if you were out for any extended time you would end up with 70 percent pay? That was a deterrent for calling in sick right there.

Yes. As you complete Turbo Tax and it goes: Let's see if you qualify for the AMT... oh look... you do!

Well I doubt anyone in the "company" has ever had a sinus block descending though 18,000. I have, in a T-38 in UPT. Not like we could hold and descend slowly in that plane. If felt like a little man was inside my head with an ice pick and he wanted out real bad.

Did you see the Chunk o' Change ALPA took from your Profit Sharing Check? It doesn't show up in the Profit Sharing Paycheck Detail... look under your regular check... then sit down...DALPA has a vested interest in huge profits, I think.

About what income level does AMT kick in? I've never hit it before and have no idea how close I am.

Are there any/many tax strategies to avoid or mitigate it?

Thanks, Erik
