Delta app.
Hey guys, quick question for our Marine Corp buddy. Should simulator time ie KC-130J level D time be included in total logbook time? Cheers h

Oh yea, the sim is not FAA approved is the reason he's asking.

It seems like we never add any pilots to the widebodies. They said all 747's gone in less than three years. I guess our careers look pretty optimistic if you want to retire as a 737-900 or 321 captain.

So I guess no chance of the 321 being a separate category?
As for the old-school trade union "create jobs" or "keep categories pure" mantra...that ship sailed at least ten years ago, and it isn't worth the effort to get it back in port, and the pilots wouldn't want it that way anyway. Better to just focus on great pay rates for the 321. If it significantly varies from the 319/320, the senior guys will pretty much self-create a "separate" 321 category anyway via their bidding preferences! |
Rough phablet math says what, 268 west coast positions on this ae between sea and lax and not even including the additional SLC stuff.
New hires in lax??? :D |
Questions regarding this AE and the 365 day aspect of it. For reference, currently I am NYC 717B and confident I could get ATL 717B if I choose.
1. The AE said training to begin in April. I wouldn't need training but by the time the AE is released my PBS bid for April would be closed. Assuming I was assigned ATL, would I keep my April NYC schedule if my transition was April? (or would my earliest transition be May?) 2. On the other end of the spectrum: Since the company can hold me for 365 days, if I am awarded ATL could the company have a subsequent AE and award an ATL transition earlier than mine to a more junior pilot not under the 365 day rule? 3. This AE is HUGE. After a monster AE like this, might the company take a break and skip a month or two while this one simmers down? Thanks |

Nope. Nor should it be. It is not a separate category anywhere else. There are far more differences between a 757 and 767 than within the A319/320/321 family, and they are combined.

To equal whatever ATL717A is. probably with some margin I'd suppose. It would be by not back filling as FOs bid off, presumably the "summer off" crowd.
Heard that from a multitude of sources and they haven't been putting people into it either so I guess it makes some sense. Here's hoping the "summer off" folks leave in larger numbers than newhires... :o |
I gotta look this up in that contract thingy but if your freeze, like the original atl 717 guys, ends on Mar 20 are you frozen still for this ae? Buddy of mine was asking and I am driving backwards on 85 through the city and cant double check.
dont worry, im staying put. I always longed to get back to turboprop flying and this is as close as it comes. |
