Looks like it's literally 50/50 on what people see.

I can see it both ways.

Scoop :)

Looks like all his trips were bought for training. He is looking at a 200 hour plus month. Smart man!

How does a regular pilot have room on their schedule to do 9 GSs and have all of them above the trigger?

Or are 73 trips just that productive that you have room for 9 day trips or something?

Yup. Curiosity got the better of me so I went and looked.
He did it by buddy bidding a Line Check Airman.
Got all his trips bought plus the greenslips are indeed all green.
Essentially triple pay for the whole month.

KA-CHING !!

Two quick bidding questions:

1. If young are scheduled for AE training and you awarded the same aircraft at another base on a subsequent AE I assume you will stick with your initial training and just lateral over - sound right?

2. Since AEs are strictly seniority based what are the advantages of checking the box that says yes I am willing to liquidate my vacation?

Thanks Scoop

It's going to be huge! LAX will be so big and we're all going to live in Orange Tree City just southwest of Torrance where all the kids drive ski boats or surf to school and I hear the training center is moving to the old Western parking structure on Century Blvd.

Buzz, you've got to be lovin' this bid! And rumors are, 777 LAX base this summer, so stand by for more West Coast luvin!

The 777 LAX base isn't the greatest of news though because it sounds like its reallocation and not growth. Couple that with a very significant reduction in block hours from the vanishing DH's and that's a lot of time (and some jobs) taken out of the system. There's probably some existing 777 pilots that live in SoCal and get paid to commute, or better: paid to commute while staying at home. A lot of that is going away with this mini base if/when it happens.

I guess it was inevitable though, and hopefully the churn created with more new categories makes up for the loss of block hours, at least for a little while.

When using the 'count pilots holding a preference for a specific category' function on icrew, will it count pilots who are already in that category but just didn't change their bid?

Like at worst its a 180 hour month. Could be easily close to 300.

just a beautiful thing really.
