From today's email summarizing yesterday's MEC meeting in New Orleans:
International Affairs and Alliances Committee report, by Captain Bren Fries · Protocol signed between ALPA and Aero-Mexico pilots. · Virgin Atlantic-JV still new, VA pilot union representation in progress. · Air France pilot union elections complete. · Threats persist around the world, and it is absolutely necessary that Delta pilots are aware and represented in the fight against these threats. · Gulf carriers have grown 94 percent since 2010, while US carriers’ growth has been flat. · Big three Gulf carriers (Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar) now operate more wide-body aircraft than the entire US airline industry, and have received more than $42B in direct subsidies. · Oman airport expansion. · Gulf carriers intend to repeat in America what they have done in Europe. They will establish and entrench themselves, and take market share. · Open Skies in its current form is not working. · Meanwhile Ryanair is claiming it is the place to work and develop a career. Their hiring is conducted by a business called Brookfield Aviation that operates out of a small innocuous building in Epsom, England. Pilots negotiate their own contracts. · Other budget airlines are also shopping for cheap pilots. · “If allowed to continue, the Norwegian business model will force other airlines in Europe and the US to adapt.” - Martin Lindgren, President of the Swedish Airline Pilots Association. · The new “normal” in Europe seems to be managements doing what they want, when they want to do it. · We must counter these threats now, while our resources are strongest. Delay will only reduce what we can do about it at a later date. · Bren will be attending the Centre for Aviation (CAPA) CEO gathering in Dublin, and the IFALPA 2015 conference in Madrid. Didn't Donatelli put out something stressing DALPA's role in enforcing the contract? Blah, blah blah. |
How do I figure out my username/password for myidtravel.com? Or, is there an easier way to list for OAL jump seats? Trying to use AA or USAir tomorrow. Thanks!

It's true per the big boss.
We also bought the last few Pratt powered 757's. R1 China 8 years old average $11M per jet average. Always looking worldwide. |

I may be being overly cautious, but I don't want to just put it out here on a public website |

Not a peep about the impending AF/KLM violation. Not even a hint. Why not? I guess DALPA wouldn't want to upset the company by calling out its lack of integrity. Didn't Donatelli put out something stressing DALPA's role in enforcing the contract? Blah, blah blah. |

Gotcha. I too got robo called. 3 of them within a 7 hour period. All woke me up. Would this be an interruption of my 8 hour "sleep opportunity" per FAR 117? Could i have legally accepted the 3rd call knowing I didn't have 8 hours rest?

Scope Compliance & Analysis (new Committee which elevated the old Codeshare Committee) and Contract Admin would be the Committee(s) to brief an impending Grievance. Chairman Mike Donatelli has stated a group grievance will be filed April 1st. |

I'm going to walk back the above statement and issue a retraction/apology. The cluebird has informed me of the following:
Mea culpa. I apologize for unfairly besmirching the International committee and Captain Donatelli. |
