Did see an article about a year ago stating that there were only two airlines operating it at a break even to profit...Lufthansas and one other... Did see that this article said that Airbus was GIVING UAL two to try...I guess somewhat like a free lease...

I did hear a rumor of getting 2 used 380's from Malaysa to do Atl-Syd. It might be the only plane that could do it... Combine that with some differences training and some used aircraft good deal prices and you never know ... ;)

Unless you're killing enemy ground troops, there is simply no reason to fly an ugly airplane. The A380 just needs to go away.

Deep Thoughts...by DW...
Why is it that we hear trumpeted that Mother has a 15% premium on ticket prices over fellow competitors...but we can't expect that on employee compensation? (If someone says thats the profit sharing piece...then why would we reduce our piece of the pie?) Lets take it one step further: Management brags about their acumen in being able to generate said premium by providing just the right airframe for each market. Multiple airframes are inefficient, crew wise, and thus lower our productivity (measured in block hours). We are actually more productive than many other Pilot groups when you look at revenue generated per Pilot. Thus, since we are inefficient ( according to our management) we must agree to productivity concessions. So in summary, our management are geniuses that deserve massive bonuses and raises because they generate a revenue premium. Meanwhile, the pilot group, the very tool that allows the revenue premium to be generated, must take productivity concessions because we are inefficient. Scoop |

Step 1: Virgin Australia buys 380's. Step 2: We buy 49% of Virgin Australia. Step 3: Sign JV with Virgin Australia. Step 4: Delta offers A380 service from SYD to ATL, NYC, LAX, and SEA. |
