Hey can someone explain how the trigger works for GS and where you see it in iCrew?

It's on your time card in Icrew.

Only hours above the trigger will pay GS pay for a GS.

So if you had only 70 hours on your sked and the GS trigger was 75, then if you flew a GS worth 15 hours you'd actually only get straight time for 5 hours then GS time for the 10 hours since you met the trigger.

Alternatively you can borrow or use up to 5 hours from your bank towards making the trigger.

Lastly, if you need more, you can white slip a trip after your GS to make sure you met the trigger then all of your GS will count as GS time.

What's the latest on flying 737s to Hawaii? I know this was in discussion a while back...but haven't heard anything for some time. I remember hearing the planned or projected date was January 2016. Is the 737 close to being ETOPS certified?

Turns out it is a horrible idea from a pax comfort standpoint.

Right up until they get a waiver to end the 1500 hour rule.

Or raise the age to 67. Don't celebrate too soon.

All the main cabin lavs are in the rear. If you have an aisle seat in the last 10 rows you have people in line for the toilets leaning over you most of the flight

Just did an APU cold start on a transcon this week..the first time I've seen it requested via the FPL in months.

And it did start on first attempt...

They sure do. It was in discussion for DAL at the school house a few months ago, but I haven't heard anything since. My guess it involves transitioning some of the ER Hawaii flying to the 737-900.

I'm not on the 73, but I thought the -900s all came etops certified. I could swear I heard that a long time ago.

Nope. 2 batteries are required for ETOPS and most 900 only have 1

Although we send some pretty "in need of updating" 75s out there too. Just flew one. I hope they add frequencies with the 737 instead of replacing 75 time. Alaska seems to fly those things from everywhere on the west coast to everywhere in Hawaii.

Complete side bar here.

I miss flying to china. Culturally she's like the psycho girlfriend that you just can't delete from your phone contact list.

Anyway, in the foreign airline section there's a downloadable blog book written by a guy that flew there for about 4-5 years that is really an excellent read...if anyone is interested.
