How does the 12-month category freeze work with AEs? Do we have to be off our freeze by the time the AE is posted, or after the projected conversion date?

I wonder if the trips will be built as 2 leg 3 days worth about 11 hours with the 24 hour layover and red eye home? I hear those aren't too desirable from a pay stand point...

Also, I am guessing the loads will have to be regulated. I am not sure how a fully loaded -900ER will take off out of Kahului/Maui with a 6995' runway and fly for 5.5 hours to the west coast with step climbs along the way. I guess we will start with HNL and go from there.
Back in the "old corps" I think the Maui 1011's one stopped HNL for fuel and SLF.

The earliest conversion date on the AE needs to be after the freeze expires.

If an AE is posted 8/1 closes 8/11 earliest conversion is 9/1. Your freeze ends 8/27. You can bid and be awarded an AE

Tablet question.... Turned it on this evening after using it this morn and the SCL big "link" to select it (under the Jeppesen Flight Deck) is GONE! No idea where it went! Called the hotline, on hold for 20 minutes and then forced to leave a message. Trip tomorrow afternoon. Thoughts???

If it's available on the small icon menu you can make it a big icon on the main page. Just ask at briefing.

There's an iCrew pop-up about it. See if that helps!

Plan on being punished for insubordination on the AE. I have no knowledge regarding it. A previous Crew Resources update said there would be enough A330 and 777 positions to absorb the 747 displacements but now that we failed to wear our backpacks and eat the crap sandwich our union and management were trying to feed us, I fear this AE will be a punishment. The good thing is that if they try to make it too punitive, it hurts the company too by creating a water fall of training.
