Why does swapping a trip that operates from the 22nd to the 26th for another trip operating the same days need to not be granted during the bid award process? It will have absolutely no effect on the next months bid. Dumb.

I get a trip that goes into the transition period, but why one that operates the 22nd to 26th?
I'm confused, what section of the PWA is this in? I went back and checked my PAS and I have multiple times where I have Pot swapped rotations within the last week of the bid period. I PS a majority of my rotations.

Unless, I'm misunderstanding your post...Are you saying it will inhibit rotations just between 22-26 or any swap that occurs within the last 6 days. I've swapped carry-over trips multiple times and non carry-over trips that are within the last two days of a bid period.

No flame intended: next time you are on campus come on over to the 4th floor and meet them. They converted a former conf room right in the middle of the floor.
Nice guys/girls - black, white, yellow, indian - best nerds for the least pay (+ travel benefits!) they could find.

Been there 3 times, always happy with their patience and customer service!
Not positive, but I don't think any calls go to India.

It is inhibited during the PBS award process for next month.

Unless something else changes, it will actually be a net loss to there number of 777 crews required. Right now, we DH all the crews to/from LAX to fly SYD, PVG and NRT. Open an LAX 777 base and all that DH credit time goes away, net loss in 777 pilots required to man the trips.

Here's a quick example. Right now, the LAX-SYD trip blocks about 28 hours but pays 38 due to the two 5 hour DH legs to/from ATL. Today, a senior pilot would bid two SYD trips for a line worth 76 hours (2 x 38).

Once you open a 777 base in LAX, that same pilot will need to fly 3 SYD trips to build a line, for a value of 28 x 3 = 84. Yes, he'll be paid 8 hours more net, but he'll be working 50% more to get those extra 8 hours. Oh, and the company saves on all the hotel rooms and per diem too.

Now, subtract all the credit DH time in the LAX-NRT and PVG trips, and you see there will actually be LESS 777 jobs in the end.

Just heard from a friend that the next AE will have 7er displacements. Is this true or rumor mill, and how much flail will actually manifest? Doesn't make sense if the brought out ERs from the desert, and 747s were suppose to be absorbed by the 330-350 and general retirements.

The letter from crew resources says that they will likely displace ER on the next bid. They will not backfill the ER on this one. Remember, we still have 757s being retired just not as many as planned.

Does Recency sim report time the same as any other normal period? Can't find on the Delta Training website if it says reduced report time or not? Thanks
