It's possible, but I always work on the assumption that the worst possible outcome is most likely.

It's not paranoia if they're really out to get you

Yeah I actually held a nice Asia trip as a shadow bid when there were extra trips above the usual suspects who bid them. So, I've got my fingers crossed for April.

As the old heads around here will remember, Saipan was my usual hangout before I became a Busboy and am looking forward to getting back. I did see all the typhoon damage from news footage after it hit and Beach Road looked like it got hit hard, so I'm sure Garapan and it's hotels took a nasty hit.

While Saipan is much more 3rd world than Guam I preferred it, Guam is too commercial and probably why the Saipan tourist are drying up. As a point of comparison, at one time there was evening service from NRT, NGO and KIX.....PLUS a beach whale (all coach seating main deck) that did a turn out of NRT during the daytime hours.

I agree about enjoying Saipan more than Guam, and was sorry to see us drop to so few flights that the layover went away. I've also heard the authorities jacked up the entry fees (like LHR) and overnight the Japanese quit booking.

Trips are assigned first. Won't even know you have SC request in until after trips are assigned.

Yo broseph stalins, I think volunteering for shortcall just got me out of a trip. I have no factual data other than I was primed for it, submitted a yellow slip for short call, and got short call. Cheers

And so it begins... TYS, this morning, the 5:50am had no pilots, (Endeavor). The following 717 threw craps, domino theory took over. I hope nobody had anything pressing in ATL. All full.

If you are off 1-3, you won't need the PB day. Save it for later. I'm not a PB guru, but they sure come in handy. They are by mutual agreement with skeds and you have to put in for them in PCS.

For reserve, is there generally a latest time they will call to assign flying/short call for the next day? Wondering how to bid on this AE because one of the cities the last flight of the night is 8 pm and first of the next day is 615 am....kind of a big window of no flights.
