Mike,
That's only one aspect of the unreimbursed employee expense column. For that I use the printout from flight line (I know, everyone likes the other guys). There are many little items that add up for pilot write offs if you keep the receipts.

Truth! New Years Day, commuting to DTW. Oversold by 58, I was 17 on the list. The gate agent announced they had rolled all non-revs to the next flight. Ten minutes later, they start paging passengers. Made it on.

I wish Travelnet was more transparent, and realistic.

If you personal drop a trip (p/d). Then can you pick up a trip that might go over where the trip was on your schedule?

Yes. Not APD though.

We are probably lucky to have what we have. As a 6-10 times a month NRSA there is no way to forecast the last 10 minute goat rope.

AF retiree, 5 months on probation, all domestic, and the per diem write off still saved me a few hundred bucks. I used Pro Diem and the difference between what per diem I was paid and what the IRS allows was over $3k so that more than made up for the extra retired pay when it comes to the 2% AGI.

it doesn't have to be that way. I worked for another airline that their loads were accurate more often that not. If it said there was a 10% no show factor, you could count exactly as many seats would be available, and where you were on the list. Plus they had this really cool feature where you could look at all places with loads under 80% and qualify that with locations that were at least X temperature or above. really helped getting away from the cold as long as you were picky WHERE it was. Nothing was given up by the pilots to make it happen either. It was all done through an employee involvement team, much like what we have here. Can be done.

Thanks guys, great info for next year. I'll have to bug Sputnik about how much money he saves on his taxes after he works his magic.

I think the new supersaver fare (or whatever it's called) screws up travelnet as well. These customers don't show up until last minute as HKs on travelnet since they don't have assigned seats until preboarding. Or so I was told by a gate agent when I asked why a very benign looking SAV-ATL flight went from 35+ open seats to 1 after a metric shlt tonne of HKs showed up from nowhere on a Saturday night, after 0 cancellations all day.

And I can see the future. The next guy who posts should get icrew max.

Gents,

I'm a new hire about to finish sim training and start OE next week.

What's the easiest way to keep track of your schedule? Do you guys log into icrew/icrew mobile everytime you need to see something? Are there 3rd party iPhone apps? Is there a way to download it to my cell phone calendar (added bonus if I can get it into iCloud so that my wife can see it too).

Thanks.

Cheers,
