Carry over trips?
Can you use a APD or PD for a trip that starts on July 1 to drop the whole trip? Can you use 1 PB day to drop a 5 day trip? |

Any way to preemptively stop a reroute? I'm on a trip that ends tomorrow but every trip these days seems to tag on a reroute (717B) and I've got multiple medical appts the next day that would be xtremely difficult to reschedule.
Is it kosher to call crew tracking and tell them this or will that just guarantee me a reroute? How about Chief Pilots Office? Thanks Nu |

You can't be assigned "tag on flying"...IE legs after the originally scheduled last leg you get in. Unless the last day gets completely re-routed, you should be good if you can make it home.
Nu As for the tag ons I've had two in the last 3 weeks, one added 4 legs to the last leg back to base and the other added a turn. Once I was a line holder and once I had a reserve line. I wrote ALPA scheduling but the answer I got back was "if it went thru trip coverage then it's legal." Figured I must be missing some catch all reroute para in the PWA. |

Nu That said, if you are a line holder they might try and do this to you. If you're a line holder, as somebody already said then you are eligible for assignment pay if you fly tag-on reroute flying. |
I live in domicile and don't care much about show time, release time, or where I lay over. For June, I have trips on days I want to fly, and no trips on days I don't. Is there any reason I shouldn't put in GSWCs for each of the periods covered by my trips? How about OOB GSWC...with some time limits so I'm confident I could get to another base? Thanks for any advice...I've never entered either.

I made it thru without being rerouted. So my question is OBE.

As far as time parameters before sign in for any gs, gswc, oobgs or oobgswc, I never specify an award to report. If they want you there, theyll get you there. |

Any time I put in a GSWC, it has no trip parameters. The logic being, you get paid for the trip on your line and be it a 1-10 gswc, youre winning.

I'm also not sure if this section means what I think it means...(23 Q 7 e): "A pilot will not be awarded a GSWC for a rotation that would create an FAR and/or 1 PWA conflict with a rotation on his line that originates on the same day" Does that mean I would never get a GSWC if I only put in GSWCs for days that exactly matched my awarded trips (since they would by definition depart on the same day)? I would have thought I might pick up an 0800 report GSWC if my awarded trip started later (e.g., 1700 report), so they had more time to work coverage for that one. |
