Was there any mention of closing the 717 base in LAX and moving the planes east once the CS100 is up and running? Not trying to start a rumor, just seems it would make logistical sense to consolidate the overlapping assets. In addition, will we have extra gate space at LAX to handle all these new planes? Place is already 25 lbs of crap in a 10 lb bag, can't imagine adding another 10 lbs of crap.

Another tidbit for the thread title... If you can wait it out, before making a decision impacting the rest of your career, Dal pilots may be unwinding with Alpa and looking for a new dance partner. Feathers may be flying shortly!
If it's all about flying small airplanes for the majority of your career and working 50% more to get the equivalent of big airplane income, no problem. Good luck with the SL sweepstakes. |
Advance apologies for the "off topic" post. (More than likely be missed in all the concessionary ..... err..... contract discussions.):D
Any recommendations on a last-minute cruise website that offers deals to airline employees? I know of Dargal.com and ID90.com, but any others? Also, in your opinion, which is better? (i.e. dargal, id90, etc.) Thanks for the replies, looking to go tomorrow for a last-minute, three-day trip. Cheers, Elliot |

How would "unwinding with ALPA" do anything to change the way mgmt has decided to strategically position the company? I think even ALPA realizes that scope, and PS protection is the only way the union even gets an input into mgmts plans. |

Any mention of 320s being put down? Heard that could be coming next year.

I thought they got some sort of life extension from Airbus and were being updated inside. Has that changed?
All 319 & 320 cabins are being or already have been updated so stands to reason that Delta expects to fly them for quite a while. |

As far as the LA base is concerned, you may have heard we're doing lots of terminal work there and that our ops will move to the north side of the airport. "New and improved" terminal but I don't know if that will net us more gates. As for NY, the long-range terminal re-do in LGA will make the C & D terminal areas all Delta and kick the American gates up to the existing American area at Terminal B. I don't know what the net gate change will be for us there. There's also continuing discussion on removing the "perimeter rule" to allow LGA departures to fly beyond the 1500-mile ring. It's with the Governor's Office for decision. |

If you have recency on your sked, and you thankfully got THE landing you needed...then what? I have contacted training planner (phone msg, email) but sim is still on my sked.
I have been to sim where a guy no shows and instructor says, "he must have gotten his landing.." Just wondering if I need to have it erased from my sked or not..?? thanks! |

Thanks Tom. I'll call their reservation agents. Maybe they have a "last-minute" cargo-hold space for me. :D
