Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Short calls are less likely to be utilized because most of us give more than 12 hrs notice if unable to make a trip. Because short calls are the last line in the company's defense, the company keeps as many as they can and won't want to burn them if others (long call) are available for use.

Locals can volunteer for more short call to benefit from lack of relative use, and relieve the burden for those commuting in for short call. Be warned, YMMV.

I finished TOE on the ER last week and just picked up a trip to KOGG. I am getting an error message when I login to icrew telling me I am not qualified. If it matters both my TOE trips were to Europe but I thought my TOE sign-off was sufficient for both Atlantic and pacific theaters. Any ideas?

Mike,
The qual is for the airport. TOE doesn't apply. Some airports are a little more interesting than others so they require you to go to view the airport pages in iCrew and self certify. Takes about 5 minutes. Take a GoPro and walk up to Black Rock, then film yourself jumping off. Pretty cool.
Enjoy.

Thanks for the reply... just realized the captain is an LCA so I'm good either way...

Btw, I already signed off the KOGG slides, so it's something else. One of those special qual airports that we didn't have on the 555 I assume.

Congrats on the aircraft swap, great destinations on the ER.

To certify special airports, look at the pictorials on the Tablet in the Jepp app under each airport.

then in iCrew, go to Personnel (drop down)/Qualifications/Update Special Airport Qualifications. Any airport with a * next to it need to be reviewed (there are lots). Enter the date in the 29SEP16 format. There are two pages, so after you finish the first one, click on the F8=Page 2 button bottom left to advance to the next page. First put in your icrew password and hit "OK" to save the dates you put in before you go to the next page.

The qual expires every 365 days, so maybe that's it?

It's amazing that with all these "slides" available to us at any time (including on the way to the airport) on the Surface we have to certify that we viewed the slides 11.9 months ago.

On the other hand, it doesn't amaze me at all.
