Talk about butt hurt. Must have been a YES voter.

If you get scheduled for OE on X or Golden days, are you entitled to PB days?

Golden Days are X days, so the answer is the same for both: YES.

Keep a close eye on it, though--apparently some newhires were improperly used on X days and not given PB days recently. I gather they've since been made whole and supposedly it won't happen again... but, "trust but verify" is probably a good plan....

Thanks, I'll go talk to scheduling tomorrow. I have OE on 4 of my X days this month.

I may have been unclear: they (your training manager, in this case) absolutely can use you on X days (Golden or otherwise)--those days are for line construction & pay purposes only during your Shadow, and essentially no different even after your Shadow until you are "OK" (done with OE). There's nothing to talk to scheduling about.

You should get the PB days as a result of working on those X days; it should be automatic, after the fact. If that doesn't happen for whatever reason, then you have something to talk to scheduling about. I'd give it a day or two after the last X day on duty and check to see if the PB days have shown up....

Payback days are awarded after you fly so wait and see if they show up before calling.

Can they use you on golden days for OE?

Yes. Your PBS-awarded schedule means nothing to the OE Planner. Anecdotally only, most of them will "try" to fit your OE around your X days, if only to keep you usable to the company following training (vs having PB days give you more days off later in the month)--but that's not guaranteed.

Communicating "I need ______ days off" to the OE Planners is done via iCrew; still not guaranteed, but if they can fit it (in seniority order), they're supposedly required to do so. Close-in, calling your planner may be the only means you have to change things.

Even when you're not a new hire? For instance I will be coming back off long term leave during a holiday month. If I am awarded off said holiday the OE planner can make me fly it? Guess I'll be coming back AFTER the holiday. How is that okay? My seniority holds a schedule. It should be honored.

The only thing that is honored for sure is vacation. If you have vacation to place on the holiday, you should be good to go....
