That's 10 to 12% for pilots. Overall employees are about ⅓ of the total cost for a seat and we are about 36% of employee costs. This number is the total cost to staff flights and includes reserves, training, retirement etc...

Thanks for the reply.

Has anyone tried running an external DVD drive off the Surface 3?

I was able to run the NSA's global listening program without issue. External DVD should run fine.

Did it work with the tape over your cameras? Have you considered putting foam over the microphone ports?:D

Sheesh guys I'm just trying to watch a movie. I know real time monitoring of your neighbors is probably more entertaining to you, but I actually prefer Hollywood fiction, brainless plots and overly expensive special effects...:p

Windows 10 supports plug and play capability so.... give it a try. I'll give you 50/40 odds that it works. There is always a 10% chance it will just perform the defensive hard lock up (like a baby refusing strained peas) or becoming accidentally damaged as it hits the wall (of its own spontaneously generated velocity) :D

This post actually got me thinking about an external drive I've got. Interestingly, I can use it with audio CDs on both my Mac and windows 10 machines, I can use it as a data reader/writer on both as well.

As for DVDs though, it'll only play them on the Mac, not the windows 10 machine nor the surface 3. On both home and tablet, it is recognized by the system and shows up in file explorer, when I right-click and say Autorun on the home machine, it opens windows DVD but doesn't play, and on the surface it doesn't open anything, just spins-up-stop-spin-up-stop.

As an option for watching movies you own, use Handbrake and convert them to MP4s and save them to a MicroSD card. I've got a 64Gb card that I rotate my library through for my commute/DH-viewing.

Anybody know how pay works with reserves when you have vacation during the bid? Seems like my flight advance pay was bigger than normal and wondering if that's due to my vacation some how?

Go to DLNET -> Crew Resources & Scheduling -> PBS Help & Resources -> PBS Reserve Pay Excel Spreadsheet (2nd from bottom).

Plug in your monthly info and it will let you know what you should be getting paid. Bottom line, yes you'll end up with more pay during a reserve month with vacation. This works for Vacation, training, MLOA, etc...
