They said it was a gain because short calls for international guys used to be 24 hours and (6*24) is more than (7*14). This is one of many reasons why we call our union salesmen.

Well maybe, but in 18 years of on and off reserve last month was the first time that I ever maxed out SC. I am of the opinion that it is directly related to guys not being in position when they were needed.

Just like sick call and MIL LV, we had very Pilot friendly programs in place until guys started pushing it - now we have much less Pilot friendly programs in place in these areas. It will be interesting to see what if any proposed changes we see in SC.

Not only no but hell no to big data dump witch hunts based on you can't retroactively prove your innocence.

And I'll take airport SC all day long for 5:15 and 2-3 fewer SC's a month. 7 SC's is asinine anyway.

I agree but Gloopy seems to be heading down that path. Food is better (and cheaper) in the home/crash pad/hotel and TV channels other than CNN/FoxNews/ESPN are much more accessible. 😁

Food? LOL yeah ok. You can bring your food if you're that worried about it. I'm not advocating a freebie give back. I want something for it. I'll trade 7 SC's for 7 hours credit for 4 SC's with 21 hours credit all day long, and that's even if the price differential moved the needle, even assuming I couldn't bring my own food.

I don't buy your SC cause and effect opinion because of the following reasons:

1. You're implying that SC abuse never happened before recent times. That's complete BS in my opinion - it's always happened. Look at the seniority of the alleged violators. For whatever reason, the company is now choosing to deal with it forcefully.

2. In your 18 years on/off reserve, how many of those early years did we have PBS? From what I understand, the pilot/scheduler relationship was more "friendly" pre-PBS.

3. You're suddenly finding yourself junior in a category and I believe that has some bearing on how scheduling handles you. I've seen my share of junior reserve in the recent past and can tell you that I've filled up on SC or come very close to it many times.

Goes back to what I've said about perspective being colored by seniority in this group. Seniority block representation within DALPA would be a very good thing for this reason.

BTW, I completely agree with hockeypilot44 regarding increased SC and I'll add that the ALV+15 reserve assignment change was another middle finger to the junior end of the seniority list.

Not only that, but the higher the max SC per month, the more the average reserve will get all things being equal. So even if you don't "max out" you'll still get more on average the higher any given max is.

Whoever wants airport standby should be sent to the regionals. Plenty of airport standby there...

Not even voluntary only for a full 5:15 day above guarantee? I wouldn't do it but some might. Commuters paid to sit around at the airport hmmm...

So I typed in my password to get rid of the icrew annoyance message on login. Now I can't find the weatherview+ training I'm supposed to watch, can I get an assist on the path to click to find it?

Not in a million years because voluntary is letting the "camel's nose under the tent."

Proper staffing, short calls, green slips. The current options are adequate.
