Nope. My wife was listed for First (the default when you list). They just went out of order. I reached out to the station manager via email, but no response yet.

Nope...with certain exceptions, premium pay generally doesn't kick in until your reroute extends your rotation more than 4 hours past your scheduled release of the last duty period of your original rotation. (23.L.8).

However, 23.L.2.a states a regular pilot may not be rerouted prior to the airborne departure of the first flight segment of his rotation. Not sure what the "penalty" is to the company for violating this provision though.

He was notified of the reroute prior to the first leg but the actual reroute did not take place until after the airborne departure of his first leg. (He flew the first leg as scheduled.) So, technically, since he didn't fly the reroute until after the first leg, wasn't he rerouted after the airborne departure of his first leg.........?

23L2 doesn't state he can't be notified of a reroute prior to the airborne departure of the first leg, just that you cannot be rerouted prior...(with the exceptions)

It's a grey area. I've scoured the SRH and the PWA but can't see any extra cash. The only thing that's piqued my curiosity is the double re-route. (Double because first we were re-routed to a MSP layover, then we were rerouted to a BIS layover.)

I'll report back when I hear from ALPA.

The new contract allows double reroutes. Enjoy.

Y'all will get a kick out of this reroute story. Earlier this month I whiteslipped a trip. DH SEA-AMS and fly back. Nice little 3day worth about 20:15. Next morning I go to the lobby to get the crew bus and lo and behold...............I will be the third Captain on this leg! Mind you, I DH'd over to fly this leg. There was a LCA giving a TOE... So, being the conscientious dude I am, I call the duty pilot figuring, hey, I'm just gonna DH back! Cool! But no, the inbound FLT from SLC had canceled and I got rerouted to stay in AMS another day and fly relief Captain to Detroit, layover and DH home making it a 5 day trip now worth 26:55. The good part, I got an additional 16:52 reroute pay because the reroute got me home more than 30 hrs after my scheduled trip. (International rule for RR pay that becomes 25 hrs on July 2) I got to DTW and deviated DH and went home on the same day.

Denny,

I'm just a poolie looking in from the outside, but I'm trying to make sense of this math. Did this crew scheduling mistake turn into a 44 hr 5 day!? This has to be a golden ticket opportunity that rarely comes around. If not, sign me up!

So did the old contract. There is actually no limit on reroutes then or now. The reroute section is much better in the new contract. I suspect perhaps you are confusing recovery obligations.

You'll have to wait till you're on a WB. Although, you can be on a 330 or 767-400 in DTW and NYC after about 12-15 months.
Also, Denny might have turned it into 4 DAYS by deviating on DH and going home a day early! If I read that correctly

Yeah, may take me a while to get there since we want to move to SEA. I read that as technically a 4 day as well. Huge difference from the regional world!
