What would the concern be of having your “overall call appearing longer?” Is that just to avoid the appearance of taking long sick leaves if someone was looking at that down the road, or am I missing something else?

Just to not hit the consecutive days trigger that requires a note. I think its 15 days? Anyway I don't think giving them advance notice while still on your days off would count as that. But, since middle days off do count as that then I'm not 100% sure.

Didnt that go away with the new contract? Too lazy to look it up

Me too haha.

I don't think it completely went away though. Otherwise you could have a single call for all your hours and not have to submit a note. There's no way that's the case.

That is the case. To Han, My recommendation is call in sick when you’re sick. If you are unsure if you’ll be sick the next morning you can always call in well. You only get charged a pro-rated portion of the reserve guarantee for each reserve day you are out sick. If you call in well before 1200 you don’t get charged sick time for that day. You’d be more likely to hear something “ie good faith basis verification” if you called in sick after they gave you an assignment. Definitely don’t let the fear of reprisal effect your sick call. Good faith basis verification, although irritating, is not that big of a deal, and then doesn’t count toward your unverified time. Just my opinion.

So you can call out one time, for 240-270 hours, and not have to even provide a note?

As a line holder when you call in sick, do you lose the credit time and only get pay time? Or does it just say the same single pay and credit as if you actually did the trip.

Swap with the pot question:

How soon before the trip starts will a swap with the pot be accepted? Ie if I have a blind swap in for any 4 day trip starting today will it go through?
