I was blown away by the announcement that iCrew is being phased out in the next 18 months. Finally! Good job! As a friend of mine who is in IT said after seeing some of the iCrew guide in the Scheduling Reference Handbook: clearly no one in upper management has to use that crap. Otherwise iCrew would have been junked 10-15 years ago and/or the iCrew phase-out would have been the lead story in this week's Flight Ops email instead of being buried in an FAQ several pages down.

Lets just hope we don't get something like UPS, where they need something like 4 logins (including a FOB you must have to generate a code) just to access their version of iCrew. But with MFA becoming more and more popular, I suspect we'll have another layer of authentication, much like PingID.

Slightly related...is there any way to "register" your home computer for self service? Every other website I've used that requires MFA allows you to register a home computer so you don't have to do MFA each time you login. And most of those are financial websites which actually seem to have IT departments from this century.

Seems to be a common story here. If upper management had to book a DH the way pilots have to, or constantly get stuck in a middle seat, or find a parking space for the B/C period sim... But they don't so who gives 2 craps? Hopefully somebody here can remind me how bad parking or dhing was in 2004 so I can stop my complaining!

When I first read it I thought they meant iCrewMobile but it will be even better if iCrew is killed completely

Read it quickly but Icrew out in 18 months..... maybe they didn’t mean the next 18 months, just when they do, that’s how long it will take.

MFA for Icrew.... has there been a lot of open time accepted fraudulently?

Or try to use the VRU in a noisy terminal to get permission to do the deviation I told them about 4 days ago.

LOL, the voice prompts drive me insane. The only one worse that I've encountered in recent memory is the one the VA uses.

Interesting tidbit from the Flt Ops update, iCrew being phased out over the next 18 months. As much as I despise that interface that is a lot of functionality to move elsewhere. They'd have to build up MiCrew to quite a big level. Or I wonder if iCrew will exist in another form?

If they could make it into an interface only half resembling what our customers have with their website/app. Everything on iCrew could be done on an app, but they need to make it human factor friendly, built for phones and thumbs vs 2 hands and a mouse and keyboard.

No more "Next", just allow scrolling. More selectable links and preferences instead of typing fields. No more PCS enter rotation #s, just view it in open time and click a button to add it to a slip. All the reserve ladders quickly viewable, and more realtime transparency of schedules between CS and pilots. MiCrew is a good start.
Don't get me started on security. You'd hope a fingerprint/pin/face/pattern available on all modern devices suffices.

Trying to ask for any 3-day WS. I️ thought I️ read somewhere to put *3 in the Rot #, and the date I️ want to start. ICrew says invalid. What’s the secret?
