The stoner polling me was very amused when I gave my opinion of the quality of their survey questions. They invert the 1-5 scale from every other survey which I’m sure skews answers. And if I have to ask him to repeat the question 3 times I think that’s a bad sign.

I’d venture the random sample size is smaller/not as random as it should be too because it comes up as scam likely on my caller ID too. Just some thoughts from one random forum lurker.

Phone polling is skewed as well: To the 5% of people willing to answer a call from an unknown number.

Internet polling gives people a chance to think and formulate thoughtful responses: something ALPA may or may not want.

In other news, why is the word “BREAST” at the beginning of my next MyCrew rotation?

That happens on the phone too when I don’t recognize the number or can’t answer. I get weekends off (see my APC indicator) and fly during normal polling hours. If I’m running between planes in ATL and need to eat, the call is ignored. If I need to talk to someone, then I call them back. I’ve been called a few times according to my missed call history but never taken a survey.

When they start running significant phone polls near contract time they put out what the phone ID will be and ask people to answer. No one system is perfect. That is why they use a variety of methods to get feedback.
P.S. Get a new phone system with auto call screening. Best 100 bucks I ever spent!

Still doesn’t help when I can’t answer. Unlike some, I intentionally leave the house without my phone when I’m on my time. Per Delta, I can’t answer it on their time. Opinion only but I think the phone surveys are far from statistically representative. No holiday inn last night but my significant other was a marketing reasearch analyst and says they are bogus FWIW. If the word is out that this is retirement focused, who do you think picks up the phone or ensures the number is not missed?

That said, there’s no perfect solution but thoughtful contemplation from those who care to participate is better IMHO.
