Moak has never done anything that should cause any of us to question his integrity.

That is how I interpreted it and saw the reasoning for Sailings statement.

Like I said, it is a difference of philosophy. I believe he is a man of integrity.

Very impressed with him when I heard him talk, and when I met him....don't think Capn was implying anything.

Besides, Randy Babbitt went straight to work for an aviation consultancy after he retired as ALPA President. Timing is different, but the concept is not exactly far-fetched. Congressmen do it all the time. Straight from the capitol to cash in as "lobbyists" or "consultants".

The key word in that sentence is AFTER and I believe he formed his own company (I could be wrong).

Capn is implying that Lee is doing this right now while he is the MEC chairman of DALPA. I find this acusation reprehensible and if he cannot prove it, he needs to remove his post.

If any one is wondering, I am a line pilot with no affiliation to the union other than being a dues paying member who is outraged that someone could make an unfounded acusation like this. As I said before, I do not agree with everything Lee has done but I will NEVER question his integrity until he shows me different.

He is smart, and very savvy in the ways of business. He has a grasp on the business aspect of the airline business and that is very important. I think the issue many have with him, is they cannot see how he translates it to being a union boss. Nothing more nothing less.

I respect him, even though I do not always agree with him.

Is PBS fairly quick? Right now it seems pretty bogged down, does Easy Bid work better? Thanks

I downloaded the Desktop Application for Navtech (free) using the instructions on the Scheduling/Resources page on Deltanet. It's somewhere near the bottom in one of the PBS documents. It takes a little bit of time to set it up, but not difficult at all. Apparently it does not work for Mac's though.

After it's setup on your computer you synchronize, which basically downloads your category's bid package, and you can then do all your bid construction and editing offline (avoiding the painfully slow PBS server.)

Once you construct your bid, you click the save and submit buttons and you're done. It's free and easy. I do check PBS via the link on Deltanet to verify that the bid I submitted matches the one they have as my current bid by doing a "cross check" (see I'm assimilating to the Delta way nicely) of the confirmation numbers. The last step is a little anal, but better safe than sorry.

Not sure how this compares with Easybid which you have to pay for. I bid reserve and it works well, as the bid isn't complicated at all. If you're trying to filter trips, Easybid may have a little better interface than the free Navtech Desktop Application.

Thanks, looking at the site now.

Widget Works and easybid are free downloads but be aware that you need to subscribe to flightline to download the bid packages. I think it is something like 5 dollars for 5 hours/month or $9.95 for unlimited access for the month. I'm not positive on these so DYOD.

Sorry to change the subject but I am trying to figure out my options IF CVG 7ER category goes away. At SOC, does the 755 categories (specifically DTW) turn into an ER category? I guess it really doesn't have to, so the important question is, will the company "import" ER's into the category and start flying them to existing or new routes such as Europe or the Pacific? It seems that the ER might be a better fit for Europe cities currently flown by the 330 and it might be a nice fit for SEA/PDX to the Pacific. Any thoughts on this? I guess I'm just using a little wishful thinking and hoping IF CVG closes, DTW 755/ER might be a good option. It's pretty easy to get there as opposed to ATL or JFK.

Thanks,
7ER A, CVG

This has to be one of the lowest blows I have seen on a forum.

All I am saying is that I would not put it past the company to try influencing our representatives. In no way did I say that it did happen only that it could.

Exactly. Especially if they become "consultants" after the fact. Then the two cannot be connected but it sure looks shady.

Cog,

From what I have heard, DTW/MSP 755 categories are international categories. They just won't be flying the 767 versions until they are trained on the 767. I think once everyone is trained the designation will change from 755 to 7ER.
