But do we buy used wb aircraft? Aren't theirs grounded for engine issues?

Sounds like something we would do.

But according to flightaware the distance from lax-syd is 7700 miles, dtw-pvg on DAL 350 is 8500, so why cant it do sydney?

Ewr-bom comes up at 7800.

At least according to flightaware.

I believe it’s the alternate airport that creates the issue. But who knows.

For a long time LAX-SYD had to use Brisbane as an alternate which is about 600 miles up the coast. We finally got approved for Canberra so I bet the 350 could do it now, but not sure how much cargo it could take. Don’t know much about the 350, but the LR can do the crossing and still haul a ton of cargo. Occasionally get some bad headwinds on that route too versus a more polar route like dtw-pvg.

Some thing about the sardine oil lube conversion.

Just for fun I just looked on the ipad for the route from lax-syd... never seen a view of the globe with nothing but water. 🤠

I’ve got 2.4.0 and MiCrew calendar showing nothing. Kaput. Egg on face.

So I fried it (deleted app), and cracked a new one open (reinstalled) and now working again.

I was just on a 350 the other day from Doha-ATL. About 15 hours gate to gate, and we spent the last half of the flight in the high 30s/low 40s FL.
Most every seat was full.

I don’t know how Qatar sets up seating compared to DL though.

Lord Howe and Christmas Island to mention two. Might see PagoPago. I think Canberra has one runway with a nonprecision approach to the south.

Seatguru.com shows that Delta puts 23 more seats in the plane, but I suspect more flight attendants so it might be 20 people different. Call it 4,000 lbs of passengers difference. Not a whole lot.

Apparently it is still not able to fly LAX-SYD without unreasonable payload restrictions even with the alternate thing sorted out.

Otherwise it might be doing it by now.
