I guess what ever happens, let's keep the kool aid flowing.......
When they offer you kool-aid, resist. Be strong.
If they offer you a chance to make the kool-aid and see it being made, go for it. It's more fun when it's your kool-aid.
It's how corruption works. Feels good.

Interesting how you could get on here and relay the info like that. The “possible new bases” 🤦*♂️ was nothing more than a response to a pilot asking “if we were to add new bases, what would they be?” The usual names were thrown out, Boston, Austin, etc. Which was followed by Bob stating all the reasons we won’t be adding any......
The hiring # was 850 - 1,350. 1,350 sounded unlikely as it was the number if they decided to “full kit” some of the pairings (pilots stay with the flight attendants throughout the day).
Interesting how two people can attend the same meeting and come away with very different impressions.
Ps. PB was explaining the different optimizers and admitted that in a perfect world they’d like to run the schedule just as the pre-month optimizer suggests (lowest pre month credit). The only reason they are backing it off now is they have realized they should really be trying to reduce “end of month” credit. This requires more buffers in the original schedule. Not because they really care about our QOL. It’s 100% about the numbers to them, as most of us know.

I'm a glass half full kinda person, you must be glass half empty...I never interpreted that we "would" be opening any new bases, just that there always "looking" at it...obviously that's up to networking
The 1350 number has been tossed around at other meetings, its the first i've heard the lower end, I think 1350 is more likely than not. If they can do it, they will...

Agreed, it definitely helped me figure out where i may potentially be on the pecking order in the next year in regards to the AE. It also gave me little confidence in our IT issues and fixes. This company is so pro-employee when it comes to the message and talking about the "employee experience" yet the IT issue and improving our experience as employees in that regard is all non beneficial to the the consumer, thus them not wanting to prioritize and spend money on IT things we needed 2-3 years ago

I had things as an intern at CAL back in 2008 that we don't have yet at DAL in 2019... So as far as employee IT we are at least 10 or 15 years behind UAL. Though as you stated they don't care about the employee experience it's all about pinching that penny to make the dollar.
A question for the nonrev guru’s out there. My wife and I are possibly trying to nonrev SEA-BKK-SEA. We can get back and forth on Delta SEA-ICN and then MyID travel ICN-BKK and back. I’ve only done the MyID thing once and that was without checked baggage. The question: Do I need to claim checked baggage and recheck it as we pass thru ICN both ways or can I check it straight thru SEA-BKK and back?
Thanks in advance.

I highly recommend trying to only bring a carry on suitcase and a backpack. With no checked bags, ICN is an amazing airport to transit as a non rev. I’d say AMS is the only international airport I can think of that is easier.
I don’t know about Korean Air specifically, but from experience, KLM and Air France will NOT send your luggage through to a delta non rev flight. I imagine it’s the same and You’ll have to clear immigration both ways in Korea to get your checked luggage.

Depending who you ZED on they may even check your carry on whether you like it or not at the gate. Good news at this point no need to go back out to security. Asian carriers have less tolerance for carry on size/weight than we do. Last time on Cathay they made us check our very normal 22" rollers (not the heavy metal pilot ones) so keep that in mind.
