Pretty childish really, to fight putting a cloth cover over you mouth so you can reduce the immediate RA build up around your face. The RA is forced out the side and into your clothes and hair. No one of consequence ever said it will prevent you from getting it. Is this really that hard to comprehend?
The other side of this argument that you don’t understand is really really simple. What gives the gov’t the right to say we have to wear one? It really is that simple. And it’s not just the mask. They make you wear a mask, then what is next? How many of your freedoms are you willing to hand over?

Now if Delta says you have to or it’s grounds to be fired, well you have freedom to make a choice there too. Same with any store, do I want or need whatever is in there enough to put on a mask or not?

Im not trying to rehash this argument, I’m really not. I’m anti-mask, but I’m pro-keep my job. I avoid stores unless I really need to go in, then I succumb to the wishes of the establishment. And if this offends you, yes I am at the point of I do t really care.

In the interest of full disclosure, I’m pro second amendment, pro constitution, and I’m going to vote for Trump. Again. And I won’t apologize for it and you won’t change my mind.

Is it 5 o’clock yet?

You and I allow the government (which is really just everyone around you, we elect people to represent us) to set rules and standards all the time. We give the government the right to require all sorts of things like:

Stopping at red lights.
Speed limits and other regulations about driving on the road
Driving on a certain side of the road.
If you want to build an car or an airplane, it has to meet certain standards
Food Safety
etc

A requirement to wear a mask when not on your private property isn't any different from the few examples I listed above.

I think wearing a mask helps prevent a much larger public health crisis, that as we see, is going to decimate the economy if we don't get it under control. However, I think American are too individualist to listen to scientists and people who's job is it to save lives to stop Covid. Many parts of the world are doing fine - just not us.

you ever wonder why Fauci originally said masks weren’t needed?

because that’s what the science and data showed. They have the studies. You can see them too.

now the cdc do op-ed pieces on masks but that’s all they are.

but we should trust scientist and the people we dont really elect into these positions. Like Fauci, who you didn’t elect. Who is a career civil servant and cannot be directly fired by the President btw.

It we should trust them.... but now we see the testing scandal in Florida and know we really can’t even trust them to count.

Do you see mask wearing as a permanent rule the government will enforce? When we get past this, IF the government doesn't rescind the rule then I'm right there with you AR-15 in hand. Until then, encouraging our citizens to wear a mask to slow the spread is not the next step to a totalitarian state.

There’s a huge difference between your examples and mask wearing. All of your examples went through the proper order of government before they were enacted. I don’t recall the Wright bros. seeking any sort of gov’t approval, by the way. Mask wearing has been mandated by executive orders bypassing all of the representatives we’ve put in place to represent us. Too much power in too few hands. I believe that’s the biggest issue most people have with mask wearing. Last i checked there hasn’t been any official states of emergency declared. I could be wrong but I know in my state, at least, there has been no such declaration made.

Arguing back and forth about the science isn't really going to solve the COVID problem. Almost nothing in this world is clear cut, perhaps initial data showed one things, then more studies showed something else. I have no idea - I'm not a doctor, I fly airplanes. I just want people to feel comfortable flying on airplanes so every airline out there doesn't furlough 3/4 of the employees.

If that requires people wearing masks when engaging with other people, then so be it.

These are all emergency orders declared to deal with the urgency of the virus. If the legislatures want to rescind them they are.

Here in Michigan the Governor did declare a State of Emergency, as permitted by law which the Legislature then consented to, then a challenge was upheld by the State Court of Claims.

Obviously each state is different.

It looks like flight attendants are the new reservation agents in terms of not having any. I have had nearly every flight this trip delayed for want of them and now my commute home is delayed. Frustrating we don’t learn from our mistakes.

I noticed on the Ops notes a couple of days ago that we had some cancellations for IFS.
