I'm guessing you were given the $25 reward for submitting a COVID test, x3.
TurboTax gives you option to say you are going to request the overage refund or let it ride. I said I’d request it. But when I checked with Optum, they say I’m right on. Not going to worry about it. Denny |
If you are over the 100 hour threshold and need a note from a QHCP, do you still need the note if you call in sick for the 48 hour period after receiving the Covid vaccine shot? Wondering if the person administering the shot is good enough....
Trying to plan this out. Denny |

No. What you do is call in sick for the shot, then call in well after the 48 hours. Then call the CPO - they'll change it from Sick to NFLY, which doesn't require a note or affect your sick leave usage or lookback.

I called the CPO before hand for both of my shots and they just put NFLY on my schedule.

The 48 hours off is an FAA requirement for this vaccine. That is a minimum. If you're getting the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, that's another 48 hours. There are some pilots who have a stronger reaction to the second dose that may last for more than 48 hours. Does that extra time still count for NFLY or is that treated as sick? Also, what happens if you have a large footprint training event that gets interrupted by the timing of the second shot? Does it get cancelled up front, or do they have enough flexibility to reconfigure it? Do you even get the first shot if you know the second will interrupt training? In my state, transportation workers are just being allowed to sign up. It's still tough to get an appointment, and you don't get a choice of which vaccine you get. |
So if my first leg changes to a DH on my way to airport, is that a re route prior to first airborne leg?
