Not all would agree. I’ve been a line pilot for over 20 years and have never been in management, nor have any inkling to, and I vehemently disagree. DYODD. If an airline’s work rules, hat, coat, etc aren’t to your liking find one that is.

…followed closely by yet another MEC Chairman’s letter that doesn’t really say anything. WTF is that guy actually doing?

Does the Delta MEC start giving out negotiating strategies and ask lists to the pilots normally in a negotiation cycle?

On scope, they have committed to make resources available to find solutions. They have also discussed a protocol, but haven't finalized a protocol for engaging in scope discussions. (Discussing a protocol to have more discussions to find solutions on scope...great work MEC)

That entire letter said absolutely nothing. Might be redlined this summer, but the company doesn't intend to redline.. anyway, good luck with everything guys!

I miss Ryan already.

The smart choice is to poll FB before any negotiation.

Let’s hope we don’t add global reserve like UAL has for its widebodies, Drum will spin himself up so fast he might make it to Mars and be the second helicopter to fly there!
That was funny. He probably would!

Just happened to me. That's why I hate ****ing reserve on the ER. When I was a line holder (I'm 50% in category and getting reserve BTW - not by choice) I would bid avoid any malaria destination. Unfortunately as reserve you don't get a choice. I don't keep malarone on the shelf either. See above line holder comment.

I tried frantically to get some malarone on a Friday before my trip. No luck. Heck if I was a junky and needed methadone, I could walk into a local clinic and get it for free no questions 24/7. Try to get Malarone in a day? Two? No dice. Hopefully I put enough deet on me to prevent from getting bitten. Guess I'll find out if that worked soon enough.

I am really starting to hate my decision to come to DAL 5 years ago. Should have gone with FedEx. At least there you get better service for going to places that require this crap. Our reserve rules suck. Our union sucks since the ATL surrender mob took over. Been really quiet lately. WTF.

Rant over. and hoping I didn't get malaria.
I’m uber super senior on the ER. I always carry some Malarone in case of a green slip to Africa, which I normally avoid. It’s really not that difficult to be a little proactive, since you are on reserve, to get some. Being that you prefer not to get malaria and all that it entails. If you’re going to DSS on a 16 hour layover in the middle of nowhere you’re probably safe since there is no where to go (haven’t seen many parties on the 16 hour layover … but I could be getting ditched too at 9am, lol) and you’re in a desert where it’s the dry season at the moment. Some people just skip the Malone and DEET themselves like crazy.

Go get some Malorone. Geez.

if he solves his problem with proactive measures or bidding a line instead of reserve, how can he maintain his anger about how poorly he has been treated by this awful company?

err, kompany

I carry an old printed trip sheet in my flight bag to remind me of a 20-leg 3-day with two 8-hour overnights just to keep myself in check. It paid me almost $450!
At chautauqua we had a 30 leg 4 day. Brutal.
