Another one to file under "we didn't think they would do that." Batch size limitations have made the greenslip coverage process clunky enough that in some cases scheduling has been skipping the process if the senior pilot eligible declines the trip and rerouting pilots instead. That way it "appears" they have followed the coverage ladder when in fact, they have not. ALWAYS file an Ace report if you're rerouted. That is all.

To be more accurate, we did think they'd do that which is why we have the ACE app and have been told exhaustively to report anytime you get a reroute. I'm not surprised at all that scheduling just does what they want. That's why we need full time ALPA volunteers sitting in schedule and tracking.
they'll get paid too.

Personally, I like calls for green slips when it's plausible that I could actually get that green slip, or one of several offered. There's no system that is going to please everyone in every circumstance - particularly when the company doesn't follow the contract anyway. Be careful what you wish for, and don't expect the company to comply with whatever language we have at any given moment. That's too expensive and/or too bothersome for them, and paying grievances for violations we hunt down with our own dues dollars is very much preferable for them.

Anyone else feel like the level of incompetence at almost all Delta Depts is at an all time high. From scheduling, to tracking, ramps, and even the dept that handles late arriving aircraft and managing swaps. It seems to me like we have incompetent people working everywhere at Delta now and passengers are paying the price.
