Who was the poster that posted the percentage's list of where you need to be to be a line holder for each a/c and base.
I figure this is the quickest way to search for it rather than going through the last 50 pages looking for it..... Thanks |

If I had a motorcycle, Kelly McGillis would no longer be allowed to ride.
I just heard a howl go off in my head when I saw those pictures... |

Feel free to flame away - that's what we do! Sorry, but this DID cost the company money, meaning it DID cost us negotiating capital, meaning I got less of something somewhere, because somebody got pay protected. THAT'S my beef. Just like an overly generous commuting policy, or overly generous sick leave that encourages abuse, or overly generous LTD benefits that went on forever (in the old days)! All of that stuff costs non-commuting honest pilots a lot of money in the long run.
If you didn't get the word, today is "it's all about me Saturday". ;) What an arrogant post! Yes, I'm sure the displacement compensation did cost some negotiationg capital. I sure hope you didn't spend much on it. The irony is that you tout a mandatory displacement policy that encourages chasing metal around the country to maintain your pay while arguing that it costs non-commuting pilots a lot of money in the long run. So I ask, how much capital was spent on that terribly worded clause? Secondly, do you see how you are contradicting yourself touting this while a bid is out that will cause a lot of new commuters... many from the one place (ATL) where many of us flocked to (like myself) hoping to never have to commute? You've gotta use some freaking common sense here... don't even get me started on the commuting policy. That policy shouldn't cost us a cent, because with the masses of new commuters that will be generated by this and the coming bids, the company will be spending oodles of money under the current scenario. I sure hope you aren't short sighted enough to miss seeing that.... |

[TOO MUCH] Secondly, do you see how you are contradicting yourself touting this while a bid is out that will cause a lot of new commuters... many from the one place (ATL) where many of us flocked to (like myself) hoping to never have to commute? You've gotta use some freaking common sense here... don't even get me started on the commuting policy. And not one Atlanta local will be forced to commute. There are already plenty of commuters based in Atlanta who can keep chasing the money if they want to. Life is full of choices. If you don't want to uproot your family, fine, bid an airplane in Atlanta you can hold. If you are truly too junior to hold anything in Atlanta, then commuting may be a necessary evil, but very few pilots will fall into that category. Very few. I'm willing to cut them some slack and even give a reasonable commuting policy but as for the rest -- forget it. Don't make ME have to pay so others can live in East Bumble and commute to wherever. |
