You and me both brother... Just like the commuting policy that ya'll had.. I guess it's a big picture thing. But the old mantra at DAL has always been "Don't worry son.. you'll be senior someday" I guess THAT hasn't gone away.

I hope that the PWA was a quick and dirty way to get the merger done but that we will cherry pick in 2012 and get the best of both worlds.

That's what I'm told when I complain about how Delta's reserve rules are worse than most regionals.

Thanks! Merry Christmas to you too! :D

PS-It was your management. Complain to them.;)

I think the AE was a testament to the to the Northern bases. While they may not be a pilots first choice in locale they are profitable.

New Manuals

Since everyone seems to be in a bi@tching mood this morning....Got the new and improved, one color paper FOM this week and the rings in the provided binder are already too small.:( You'd think they'd start off a brand new issue for thousands with a binder/manual combination that fit and allows a little breathing room. Good thing I won't have to worry about carrying it for quite a while.

I don't think the old policy will last long. With the forced commutes, increased RJ's flying around, and upset pilots because of the first two, something has to give.

Well we are all Delta now..... But as a former Northwest pilot my Christmas present is getting kicked off the 744.

How do you figure your getting kicked off the 400. Its a fenced aircraft so no DALS can bid or displace into that equipment. There are minimal displacements on the NWA side and they are almost all on the DC9 who could not displace your position with their seniority.

I remember hearing something about 767 time moving out west, so I don' think the flying will go away. Just moved. I had hoped to hear the 330 would be coming to ATL, but I got the impression that it would not happen....at least not on the next bid.

NYC here I come!

Yeah well unfortunately the other mantra that seems firmly entrenched in ATL is "What are you willing to give up for..." So I'll be shocked if this policy changes before the returns of the dinosaurs. (Not the DC9 version :D)

If you ask me making Mecca (ATL) less Mecca-like is a great thing. Its the best thing that can happen to us.

For us to embrace the idea that several large, efficient and profitable bases is a positive sign that we are moving away from old school/old DAL ways of managing the airline into the dirt.
