I'm kidding, I'm kidding.:D

What if they aren't a commuter?

Well in the 88 you are never planned faster than a 23 cost index, which is never faster than .75. I just hate it when people slow down that far out!!!

If you look at your flight plan going into any large airport on the -88, you'll see the TOD cost index increase to 55. This is when you're supposed to use policy mode on the descent page. I usually change it to policy while I'm inputing the flight plan at my origin if I see the high TOD cost index. Otherwise, I'll leave it alone and do the slow descent. If your Captains are doing slow descents into ATL, JFK, etc., they most likely aren't following the planned descent.

We take turns, and he always gets to choose if he wants to start. After 7 years on the right seat of the DC9/M88, I've got enough landings to last a lifetime.

Of course, if he shows up with long sleeves on, I start and he gets only ATL landings. ;)

How about is he shows up in a wife beater shirt with eppulates?

And if they do that they will get asked what they are doing really quick!

I just do not get what is so wrong with landing in ATL? Doesn't bother me at all.

You take all the landings to allow him time to line up the evening's entertainment.:D

Read the HOWGOZIT. It will normally command a 60 on the 88 for descent. It was not the way you state when I went though.

55. Or just select POLICY.

I wasn't talking about big city airports. I am only referring to smaller airports. I know coming into ATL that the cost index changes to 55. But why slow at other airports?
