Bloch and friends are concerned with our stock?

I don't know if it makes sense or not but I think it will happen based on history. A lot of times when something big gets announced it takes place on Friday either right before or after everything closes (i.e. stock market, union offices, management offices.). I hope our union reps have a lot of cell phone minutes if that is the case.

This is very important to us, but big picture wise I don't think our SLI qualifies as "something big."

Big to Who?

I was thinking the same thing. The SLI is big to the pilots involved, but I doubt it is a blip on the radar screen to anyone that might have an impact on DAL stock. By definition the pilots on both sides are going to be pi$$ed at least a little (except #1), but I don't think anybody else is going to care one iota.

Unless it goes down something like the AWA/UAIR integration, I don't see it as anything but good for the company and investors. To have a joint contract and an integrated list is great news for them even if some of us don't completely agree. I doubt it will be so one-sided that the stock will take a hit. It would however, give the company a few more days to digest what they have to deal with before the big investor day.

you know, you just hit the biggest reason the company may want a list today. A lot of their future plans are for moving aircraft around the system. Much of that depends on the fencing in the award. I am sure Delta would like a few days to study the award and how it impacts their plans before they meet with investors.

Agreed. Unless it is a completely one-sided victory and a total shaft job to other group I don't see how this could influence our stock. If anything, I think they will treat the weekend like college kids using it to cram for an exam. Or, the weekend is most likely a buffer for the two parties to see if they can come up with their own list. Perhaps, there will be a "leak" to both sides today and unless they will come up with their own list, that is what will be handed down on Monday. JMO however.

The market expects labor trouble. When upper level management types from other industries ask me about the merger, they already have the preconception that we are fighting it out. They don't believe it when they hear we already have a joint contract and agreement on a SLI methodology.

As Rock Boy posted, it is almost all up-side and our relative peace will probably be overshadowed by the "news" as the other labor groups conflicts are explored and resolved.

As far as mergers go, thus far, this has been one of the smoothest. Thanks to everyone involved being mature and forward thinking.

Those of us who simply can't stand the result will be best served by moving on to another employer. I am amazed at the US Air pilots sticking in there - better jobs are out there, even in this economy.

I know that the SLI result deadline is 8 Dec, but does anyone know if the list will actually be published by the MECs on Monday, or can we anticipate any delays. The edge of my seat is getting worn out.

Thanks.

It looks like you'll get an e-mail with a link to the list ASAP after release.
