Surely you don't mean that. Would we call that the commune delta or what. Again, unless you are junior on the seniority list reserve is a choice. I agree with a sliding scale tied to ALV (not max alv).,maybe something like alv - 5 but never less than 70.

Rumors
We cannot respond to every rumor that is circulating, but one your council officers have recently been made aware of is worth addressing. There have not been any discussions with Delta management, nor are any scheduled, on relaxing the PWA scope protections in regards to “100 seat aircraft in exchange for a pay raise”. Last fall, Council 20 passed a resolution on scope. The MEC then unanimously passed this resolution. The resolution states:



1053 - (AI 09-144) Maker: Hay Second: McDonald

BE IT RESOLVED the Delta Master Executive Council affirms its commitment to enforcing and improving all sections of the Pilot Working Agreement, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the Delta Master Executive Council affirms Section 1 of the Pilot Working Agreement is an integral part of a comprehensive strategy to protect the careers of all Delta pilots.

Passed: Unanimous.

I always put a GS in with no time limit. They call, and even if I am in DFW or points west I tell em I can make it but tell them where I am. When I do this if they really need me the will PSY me to the GS! :D

To answer your question, yes they do.

J29, I am a commuter and when there are lots going out you can get them as a commuter,seniority in category helps.

Yes, I have been assigned GS's in excess of 12 hours. Just put it in the criteria boxes. It will of course eleiminate many of the GS's generated on short notice, but yes it does happen all the time.

I would go for this too. As you know finis, we had this in a previous contract. It was cap minus 5 hours. ALV minus 5 would be pretty much the same. With a minimum 70hrs.

Johnso29, definitely put in the GS and say you need notice of 12 hrs if that's the min time you need. When there are a lot of GS's, they know well in advance. If you are willing to do it, it never hurts to try.

To answer your question, yes they do.

This is true also, but it sometimes ticks them off when you have a GS in and then can't make it. Yeah, I know, who cares. :rolleyes:

Reserve is a choice during expansion, it is not necessarily a choice while AC bases are being rearranged and the company is contracting the same way furlough is not a choice while the company is contracting.

The Delta pilot pay floor should be 75 for every pilot.

The minimum daily pay ought to apply when the company puts something on your schedule. Training, deadhead etc...

Seniority sorts out what fleet, base and days off you are eligible for...
I don't think this would lessen your seniority ;-)

I'd say it is. I'll say it again. I have never been asked, ordered, or told otherwise to report LEC contact or any contact from anybody to the MEC level. FWIW I'm also a committee subgroup chairman with a budget. I'm allowed to do business as I see fit and have never been told otherwise.

I will confess we did get a pay RATE raise. I also know that we lost over 400 seniority list instructor positions (not to mention the staffing backfill that required), which all paid pretty well. I think the angst your seeing in the mirror, Alfa, is that you just weren't expecting a pilot group that didn't bow down and kiss the very ground just for wearing a DAL uniform. While a the south guys have a majority, it's a slim one, and this wasn't the steamroller the Northeastern, Western or PanAM merger was. Northside guys are INVOLVED, they pay attention to what goes on, and when they have a problem, they call their reps and make noise. The reps listen to them, otherwise they aren't reps anymore. Deal with it.

We're here because they pay us to be here, and not because of what it says on the side of the airplane (what would you call that? Delta Jet Syndrome? DJS?)

"Merger of equals"...yes, I seem to remember that coming from one of the arbitrators in the transcript. It's not your ball anymore Alfa, it's OUR (as in north and south) and you need to learn to share.

Personally, I think we got a great group. I think the MEC is in a position to represent the interests of EVERYONE at DAL, and given another year for everyone to find their footing, it will be in great shape heading into 2012. I honestly believe the MEC and the NC understand what's NOT for sale.

It's time that you stop sowing YOUR "politics of personal destruction" and "hop on board the train before it leaves the station" (ahhh, turnabout is such fair play).

Well I guess I just don't understand it. How many outraged letters of resignation do we have coming from south guys? How many hate filled letters do we have coming out of south reps? How many times have the south guys threatened to storm the gates because the company is following the contract? When all of these actions are called out, then that is bitterness and disunity.

I am sorry, but the KW letter and the Council 54 newsletter were meant solely to whip people in a frenzy and divide the pilot group. I point that out and I am the angry one? This is bizarro world.

No one expects the north pilots to kiss the ground in Atlanta. Is it too much to ask to stop whipping people into a frenzy every two weeks?

I also like how you throw out the IBB balloon again. Define for me what an IBB negotiation looks like and a non-IBB negotiation looks like. I have yet to see a realistic answer to this.
