AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH.............Shirley......S chmidt......I'm gonna get my Shirley doll out and dress her in her cheerleader outfit I gave to Alan!!!:D

I gotta say, if the 767er is moved to Seattle, I'll have to bid it. Most probably I will not be able to hold it, but I've gotta try!!!:D Ferd, you can't give that up!!! Looks like you will be moving!!!

On another note, I can't believe this is the last season for Boston Legal. :(

I will say this, originally I was left with the impression that 2/3 of NWA was on the DC9. When I look at your seniority list however I see the 757 and A320 sitting way low at the bottom of DTW and A320 in MEM.

Do you have a lot of commuters? Are they bidding the 9 for quality of life? I hear that a lot but is that really the case? I feel like thats the case on our 88.

One other note on this. There are slot more people on other equipment now that are shown as dc9 pilots on the list. The list was used from July which is a bit behind. Since July we have had ALOTof awards in both the fo and ca positions. I show as a dc9 fo on the list but I am really on the bus. Confusing but slot has changed as far as positions go.

Yeah, I'll say I heard a lot on the line a few months to almost a year ago that you'd better bid the plane you want even if you don't want it right now because after the merger you won't be able to hold it... i.e. 767, 7ER, 765, etc.

But to me its not valid. It's a knee jerk reaction based on a misconception about what it takes to hold larger airplanes at NWA and that NWA pilots would be desperate to get off the 9. IMHO not so. QOL. I could be wrong, but I don't feel like I am.

If there were no new bases my guess would be that there would be minimal jumping around and mostly from pilots who would find their commute easier or eliminate it all together (NWA guy in ATL/NYC, a DAL guy in MSP, etc.)

Now with new bases, it's unpredictable. I mean just look at the trickle down effect of the 330 being replaced by the ER in Asia and the 330 going to NYC. I guess you just bid what you want to fly and see what happens, its too complicated to try and figure out what will happen but entertaining to think about it.

So newKnow, you'll be left seat on the 767 in MSP bidding in the top 15%.

Exactly! If the 330 gets moved those senior guys in seattle will likely do whatever they can to stay in seattle. Same goes for some of the delta side guys. Qol is huge therefore bases are big bidding points.

Before or after SWA and CAL combine to raise the mandatory retirement age to 70. Oh wait, that'll be in five years...

Well, right now you can hold M88 Captain or 73-800 Captain in NY & LA.. or 777 FO in ATL. I would guess that won't change a whole lot in a year, but if your attrition actually starts happening, that could change. Oh, and DOH means nothing anymore unless you are talking about non-revving :D. Not throwing a rock... but bringing that up will be a divisive thing from here on out IMO.

Fair winds...

Thanks TS,

Delete the hire date. :D

I think things will be shuffled around alot in the next few years. We will see how things shake down.
