I was just looking at the PowerPoint for the investor's conference and saw that $100M is being spent on aircraft interiors and realigning the 757 cockpits. Does anyone know what that's about? Having received ATA and TWA 757s we didn't realign those and I'm not aware of anything radically different with the NWA birds? Any NWA guys care to guess?

For those that want to see that NW 744 that was flown to VCV for the repaint in DL colors, here you go: First Pictures: Delta B747-400 — Civil Aviation Forum | Airliners.net

Departs VCV for DTW on Dec 13th as NW9868.

Off the top of my head I'm think'en ACARS, Satphone and HF radios. I'm sure those are either different or in different places. But, as you said, not much else is probably that different. But, of course I've been wrong before:D

You know, when I got hired at DAL, I knew we would never fly the 747 again. Or so I thought. So instead, my fancy tended towards the planes we had, 757, 767, 777, etc. However, I must say, the 747 does look pretty sweet. I look forward to seeing the completed job. To all NWA guys, I realize this is perhaps a bitter pill to swallow. My baby has always been the 757 in DAL colors. If the buyout had been the other way around, I think it would have been a bittersweet day to see the DAL colors come off.

That said, welcome to the family guys. And cheers to moving to the future.

The only thing we don't have is the Satphone. That might be on the ER but I never see that. Interesting. Maybe we're getting fuzzy dice.

Little off the subject, but does anyone know when ALPA will display the new seniority calendar for each pilot online?

I'd like to have an idea of how long I'm gonna be on furlough for if the economy doesn't turn around in the next 12 months or so.

If you get the boot it will be down to Compass for a type then to the right seat. It will take quite some time to be truly unemployed.

I read somewhere that NW uses V-bars instead of the crossbars for their flight directors. I wonder if that is part of the realignment cost: modifying the FDs on all the NW 75s to bring them to DL standards?

Oh yeah, they also have to be sure they take out the intercom. We can't have any of that on our airplanes.:D

(Actually, do the NW birds have intercoms? I have no idea.)
